I am increasingly getting suspicious about my Zed and it's history.

 

It is a Import and has all the usual stuff like folding mirrors, reflectors in the right places, clear indicators, same size wheels all round but I think the engine is UK, the fuse box covers are all in English is there any other tale tale signs that this could be the case.

 

I am thinking maybe the engine was replaced after import.

The fuse box cover in the engine bay is in UK...the one in the drivers footwell should be Japanese - but thats not to say the previous owner just changed it!

 

I dont specifically know how to tell if an engine is off a UK or an import, as far as I know the engines are identical.

Yes, this is what I thought. And I am the first owner after Import so I highly doubt these were changed.

Mines a Jap spec but the fuse box is in english, I suspect that my car has had a crash that side and the fuse box was replaced as part of the repair.

Hmmm interesting....I'm the first owner of this car from when I had it imported over 5 years ago so I'm assuming thats how it came over from Japan.....It'll be interesting to see how other imports stack up on the fuse box cover!

mines jap and the cambelt replace panel/plate is scribed in jap with the date of change etc

I have a 1990 Japanese Z here in Japan. It's engine bay fuse box cover is in English.

I believe the UK and Jap engines are the same. It's the ECU that's different......

 

I'm sure someone who knows better will confirm this :confused:

For what its worth, I'm onto my second import NA, both have had english on the fuse box covers

hi have a jap import 91 and my fusebox is in english.

Likewise mines a jap, but the fuse cover is in english, if you look it also says (USA) on some of the fuse places, so i think they only made the one cover for uk jap and yank ones.
