Import SWB.......:bow::D

import(s)

I reckon, that about 30 to 35% of the ones on the uk roads are uk ones and about 65 to 70% imports.

My belief is that cos the zed was so expensive over here when new they were mainly bought by flash gits and company directors, who either thrashed them to destruction or crashed them, doubtless some were looked after better than that and they are the ones that you see on the roads today.

Wheras the jap ones were alot more affordable, but still not cheap to your average jap,therefor were looked after a bit better that added to the fact that they dont do as many miles as us brits, thus more have survived. Plus i bet there were alot more zeds sold in jap land than the uk.

Probably b0llocks but thats my theory.

Mine j spec by the way, (and so was my old one!)

import too, only 60k on the clock, uk have higher

60k, thats 38,000 miles, thats the only thing that worries me is that most of the mports come over here with that miliage!!! :D ;)

Not that id ever suspect the god old japs of clocking them before they send them to us gulible English fools!!! :eek:

UK, the only way to go...............:)

import here :D

as for clocking them, you ever tried to clock one of these? you would have to mash up the milometer something stupid to be able to spin the numbers round. And before you ask, I was trying to adjust a new set of clocks to read the correct mileage, ask john dixon :)

import here :D

Hmmmmmmm :eek:

I just bought my import (1999 model).

The shop that sold it converted the speedo to MPH.

They adjusted the mileage to read 36,000 as they said that was what it was in km before.

I looked through the paperwork and told them it should be 23,000. They checked and disagreed and wouldn't change it to 23,000.

I believe them and 36,000 was correct. Worrying if they all have that mileage though!

Mine was looked after :) Flash gits and company directors indeed! :rolleyes:

UK zed's have a rust problem, you've only got to take a look underneath one, unless of course it's been garaged all it's life.

Where do they rust?

I'm keen to prevent it on my import if I can.

Bit of a generalisation - why would not keeping it garaged make it rust more underneath? :confused: As I understand it, underside rust is primarily started by corrosive salt from UK winter roads... Mine's fine though :cool:

By 'garaged' I mean that you don't let your car get wet or don't take it out in the winter.

I have a TR7 Convertible that is sat in the garage most of the time, I'll only take it out in the dry cos I know that if it gets wet it'll turn from red to brown, I'd be most :( & would probably end up :cry: or down the pub :duffer: my sorrows away :)

The problem is that many of the so called jap imports that are sold actually have spent several years in Malaysia then appear in the UK as Jap imports which they are but arn't really and they all have 60K on clock. Hence so many really ratty looking imports. Where as in general, but not true in all cases. The UK cars tend to be in better nick.

UK mine - lower insurance
