....there's a new menace on the roads.

It's called the Megane Sports 225. 2L Turbo. It does not hang about and is not shy to do 150mph. I have proof!

I think this will be the next affordable french boy racer car in 3-5 years.

yeh i wonder how long it takes to get to 150 though, probably be better at low revs being a 2ltr,plenty of low down torque!

Well, I was behind him doing 60mph, when it cleared in front of him, we both floored it, and I didn't get past him till I was doing over a ton.

i had a bit of battle with a fiat coupe, and mines pretty nippy for stock, and i was only gradually pulling a way from him, would that have been a standard car

yer and they're pretty much on par with the s14/s14a 200sx's

Truth is that there are lots of fast little buckets out there and dozens of guys modifying even the most modest of shopping trolleys!

The only answer is to mod your zed and take your chances, but remember - driver skill is still the best weapon! (and looking cool while you destroy them of course!)

Dont make much difference to me at the mo anyway, as it's only running on 5 cylinders at the most  Bloody thing!!

Same response as to Dianne ;)

 sorry I'll get my coat....................... for the second time today :slap: There's always someone to lower the tone around here.

If youre going to drive something a ugly as a Megane it would need to be fast to allow you to get the hell away before someone you know sees you.

OOOWER :slap:

I wish i f*****g knew, but I think I've got possible a conection problem. Looks like a long term investigation :D Mainly as I'm skint now, so cant afford to buy loads of bits like I'd like to :(

It is the higher end where the ZX becomes untouchable - ask a scooby owner :D

But from say 70-100 a ZX should still outrun most so-called performance cars, but the issue now is that a lot our cars are around 10 years old with a few miles under their belts.....(and turbos that may be past their best).

Having said that, I had a rumble with a Pork 911 (not turbo) carerra (L reg) from a standing start along a "track" this afternoon and I was first to 140

Richard :hyper:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

If the old 21t is anything to go buy the megane will be a good car.

I had 2 21t's years ago, took the ph2 to prima racing and had a stage 3 conversion on it, bout 260bhp and the T3 hyb. They could run 20psi as standard and had a renault sport lightweight engine in. Fast as fook when tuned.

Standard at 175bhp was a good runner for the cossie, cause the torque was about 190+lb compare to 200lb on cossie. Good at the time for a car you could buy for 3k instead of 10-15k.

moded pulled up to 160 a treat :D

Was only getting 12mpg- on fuel computer nearly as bad as the Z lol.

Couldnt get hardly any grip tho as fwd one not a quadra, wheels span up till third, and those were the days when I changed gear like automan and bent selector rods on a regular basis lmao.

Flogged it for stupid money when everything started blowing up and off the engine. I took Jay to pick his Z up in it, well we tried on three occasions and ended up on the side of the road. But when it was going it was...

However, nowt could keep up / over take me up to 100 at the time. Well fun and underestimated car.

Ahhh to be 17 again.

Dave, I take it it's just not sparking on one of the cylinders then?

Have you check the coil pack for the cylinder in question, mine went a while back and had to use a tye-rap to hold it down, works a treat!! Bodge job I know!!! ;)

TBH Mark, I havent checked anything other than pressing the connectors down. I was hoping to change the loom conectors for the spark as well as the injector ones at the same time. Also got a FPR coming soon, ;) James, and that should sort another problem out, so wanted to do all of this at the same time. But need a new fuel filter, new connectors and then the 'O' rings for the ballance bar, also a new set of plugs might as well go in at the same time.

Well best of luck with it mate, hope you get it sorted!!

I should have mine back a week on sunday so if urs aint done I;ll come and see how ur getting on if u like!!! Not sure whether I can help!! Best I can offer is moral support!!! ;) Will be ing Grantham that weekend anyway, visiting the missus!!

There's a review of this against the super duper Leon Cupra Type R extra dangly bits special in Evo. Evo liked it, but it's still FWD innit? :xxx:

Yeah, ok, PM me before you come over and I'll give you my address :D thats if you can put up with two kids being here :D as it's my weekend to have em.

Ive got a new Astra coupe turbo as well as my z. Trust me, up to 80ish mph a Z would not be tearing past it.

Astra Spec

Dunno if this is the one your talking about? Quite like em but the new one looks better.

A mate of mine had one of these, I could outrun it in my old Supra Mk3 turbo. Not a walkover mind, like you say up to about 80 it was close but the Supra still pulled enough of a lead. After 80 though it was bye bye Astra.

When I got the ZX he had trouble keeping up and by 70-80 I would be a bit further ahead, but in the 70-100 rolling range he could not even get close.......

He's now got a Scooby, that gets to 80-90 quicker, but after that..... ;)
