Good but very overpriced for what they are. Many similar quality brands are out now but my big brake upgrade is being developed as we speak using stock calipers.

Quite a few Skylines run them. They're very good at stopping but have a tendancy to overheat and the disks warp if you really work them hard (i.e. track use). If that is the case you should also look at a fully floating disk/bell as well.

find mine very good, bloody expensive but is'nt everything. never heard of a bad report except for price.

got 343mm discs, 6 pot calipers, braided lines, ds2500 pads, & 5.1 fluid

good stopping power

no fade

Awesome brakes mate !

Never once had brake fade with mine (6 pot 350mm) - even on track ( and with my Zed previously being auto that meant they had to work hard !

Had them on 3 years now and not even had to replace the pads

Because the braking area is so big they don't have to work so hard and so stay cooler.

When I was running OEM brakes I got through 3 sets of disks in 18 months so I reckon over the life of the car (which I have no plans to ever sell considering what they fetch) the AP's will more than pay for themselves !

Thanks guys.

I've been quoted £1700 which I think is a lot but then like you say nothing is cheap is it !

I am considering them as a result of my experiences at Brands where I was being outbraked by everything out there - especially the skylines :( Any other suggestions for alternatives ?

"which I have no plans to ever sell considering what they fetch"

DITTO !!!!

i take it that is the full kit discs, calipers, pads, lines, & fluid ??

what size discs?

sounds like a good price for ap

make sure your wheels still fit

Had mine many years now. Had to have the discs skimmed once a while back but otherwise no problems. Phenominal stopping power.

Great for scaring passengers with late braking manuveures

Cost about £2k so looks like you've got a good price but there are cheaper alternatives out there.

Oh yeah, and say goodbye to that pathetic spare tyre cause it aint goin on once these babys are in place

Hi Russ

Same as yours I believe.

Think I'll take them based on all your feedback..........

Mark

check wether your rims will fit, mine are 18" , but some can foul the calipers

ap do different size discs 315mm, 330mm, & 343mm

don't think you will be dissapointed.

as to the spare hope you don't get a puncture on the front lot of messing taking one of the rears off to then put on the front space saver then on rear.

Good point. Mine are the 330mm discs. 18" rims just clear them.

Also check the length of the hoses. The ones that came with mine did fit but on full lock they we're tight. After a couple of years they sprang a leak! That was an interesting drive home

Regarding the space saver (i.e. spare wheel).

buy the brakes then buy yourself an AA or RAC membership ;) problem solved.

2 choises for brakes AP or Endless, price is high but in some cases u save both ur car and ur life so dont think of the money

I think Pambos is right, but there is another school of thought - people with good brakes come to rely on them and leave themself less space and stopping distance = less safe!

(yes, I mean you in the Calibra behind me this morning, you twonk)

something i forgot to say is that u wont have abs working also

Er - why ?
