My front disks & pads need replacing, any idears on what make and type to go for that will stand a better beating than the standard ones?

I've been looking at the EBC range of disks and the red stuff pads, any good?

thanks

youd be better off putting some extra dosh in and getting some gtr brakes if you can find some!!

Iv heard that EBC arent that good really!!! My mate has some on his GTI and from what iv been told from other people who have used EBC b4 is that the discs tend to crack!!!

"Hey presto" hes had them fitted for about a year and a half and his mechanic just put new pads in and told him his disks have cracks appearing in them!!!

Hes now getting a black diamond set up on his car!!!

I've got the Ferodo DS2000 series pads on mine and they are spot on - low dust and great stopping at all speeds. Similar price to the EBC pads.

Steer clear of EBC. Disks are known for cracking, pads are bad for dusting and wear. Save up a bit more and convert to R33 or R34 calipers and disks- the difference is outstanding ;)

how much would be expected to pay for a skyline set up? ive heard the disks are around £500 each to replace?

Try smithy he has some porterfield pads on special offer at the moment!

Do a search about the discs, or you may want to try this

has any one attempted this on a 300?

£500 should buy you the calipers and used discs.

If i phone around some breakers do i need a particular year or model skyline ?

cheers for your help :D

how much are you looking at for them mate?

£410 including VAT mate. I've changed the pad specification to EBC red stuff though. I know some people don't like them for various reasons but it's what I've always preferred. I also got grooved disks and EBC green stuff for the rear from the same company. All in £660 including VAT.

No problem feller. Hope you make the right decision for you.

T0 be honest if you want uprated brakes r33 v spec are the only way to go, best source is the gtr forum

Black Diamond disks and Mintex pads

R33/r34 No Others!!!!!!!

Jd get in contact i live near you not many people own a z at the age of 21 around southend! i thought i was the only one, obviousy not, would be cool to see your car as ive heard bout it Antonio_siciliani@hotmail.com!

I'm about to bring a StopTech kit back from the USA. They are supposed to be one of the best kits out there, and come in about £1200 with the import duty. (The dollar being as weak as it is...) I thought about a gtr upgrade as well, but a bit of research suggested that the StopTech kit was well designed to maintain the same ratio front / rear by carefully chosen piston and disc sizes. Dunno, I've never tried a gtr upgrade. At least I know I won't overheat them!

I've just been quoted £600 +vat for a pair of tested low milage R33 skyline brakes

any good????????????????????????

will these stand up to track day use?

I like my ap set up had to sell the wife so not a bad deal all round

The gtr set up is very very good you will find it hard to get a better set up...others do make good brake kits but lets face it brembo are the daddies!!

I'd steer clear of Redstuff.

Got them on mine with R34 GTR stuff. They're OK, but can be very noisy and you can still fade them a surprising amount after a few hard miles.

Do work pretty well from cold though.
