What's the maximum boost you all recommend with a JWT ECU/K&N/HKS Drager?

Currently have the max set to 15psi.

I use the car as my daily transport.

How does detonation rear it's ugly head - what should I be looking out for?

15 psi is about the max without bigger turbos and injectors I believe.

Paul

did you fit it and was it easy ill be doing one as soon as i order one off johnny

Fitted myself with no problems at all thanks to Eric.

Take a look at his tech section at: http://300zx-twinturbo.com

The Jap instructions are of no use and the translated leaflet that came from the UK distributor was not much more helpful either.

As the kit is designed for single turbos you will need about 3m of 6mm fuel hose and 2 T-Pieces to fit it. Get a pack of 10 jubilee clips too. I could only find 8mm T-Pieces for a garden pond at B&Q and spent hours trying to force the hose over them.

Halfords list them in their in-store catalog but had none in stock. Tried loads of other motor specialists with no luck.

This gadget is well worth the money too.

My Z seems twice as fast as before and thats saying something!

Found it very hard to spin the wheels on my auto with fat tyres before - now the traction control is working overtime.

Adjustable gain means boost can be made to build far quicker for a better response.

Got mine from Johnny too so thank him from me if I haven't already!

I have one in my Stealth, and I do NOT like it...

That STUPID box seems NOT to be able to compensate for atmospheric pressure changes.....so one day boost will be 0.8 (nice & sunny), next day will be 1.05 (bad & rainy)...

I know it has 4 possibles programs, and yup, mine is setup correctly...I simply do NOT like it.

Otherwise...nice box

Zee you

That's not a problem over here Henri mate, as we don't get that much of the hot stuff...LOL!

Tim

Henri,

Maybe it doesn't compensate for atmospheric pressure but if you have set the limiter you are not going to go over the max and my right foot varies the boost pressure all day long anyway!

No point having knobs to twiddle and buttons to press if you're not going to use 'em.

I've got a Blitz DSBC too. Henri, I know what you mean about not adjusting for atmospheric pressure but to be honest, I'm not bothered by that at all. So long as it doen't overboost, I don't care. I drive around with the unit switched off most of the time anyway.

Andy

I had mine setup perfectly not a days trouble it did exactly what i asked of ot, if they are setup properly they are fine.

huggg.....Well, maybe I'm a perfectionist (yeah, ok, I AM)....

but if I want my boost controller to boost 0.8 bar, I want exactly 0.8 bar....not 0.6, not 1.05, depending on the weather

If I want my setup 1) to be my "high speed low boost"...it's exactly what I want...

I have several digital boost gauges in my car, and I know that I WILL reach the "max boost allowed for the day"...unless of course I drive to the gas station, with a cold engine...

And I can definitely tell the difference between 0.8 and 1.05 bar...no problem..especially if I start to overtake, expect 1.05, and I get 0.8 !!

I asked several people, and all told me that my DBSC is properly setup, and that I have to "live with it"....

Zee you

Henri

PS : Is a Profec B can do it....why couldn't a 2 x more expen$ive DBSC ?

Henri,

don't get me wrong, I can see what you mean. Like you say, you're a perfectionist. I just want to go fast smile.gif

Andy

Where can you get these unit from in the UK and how much should one pay ?

ehrm...just a small warning, before everyone starts buying bc's and increases boost to 16psi.

don't forget you need a chip to go with it, otherwise your engine will go boom boom

Not being funny or anythign but why 7 guages in your car, are you paranoid, mine never gave me a days problems, if they are installed properly they work mine always gave me consistnt boost, maby there is an air leak in yur system?#
