...and the car was parked at the time as well.

Oh well rather than have to explain this to everyone on MSN etc. Here are the details:

I was parked outside the bank tonight standing in the queue waiting for the cash machine (engine off, but sidelights still on).

Was looking at my car thinking I really need give it a good wash on Saturday before the Essex meet, when a ........ yep you guessed it Ford Transit Van (not white funny enough). Decided he also wanted to get some money out... but rather than just parking in front of me, he decided to take a section of my car with him on the way as he pulled in.

I was a little angry to say the least but a witness decided to tell me that he saw everything and he would give me his details, this happened before the driver got out so I calmed down a little bit.

Driver was driving a company van and was apologetic, gave me his details and a picture ID to confirm so I guess the insurance will be ok (got to be positive I suppose).

Anyway to cut a long story short the wing, wheel, front bumper, side lights and splash guards are damaged.

ah FFS stu! gutted for you mate :(

at least it his fault & he'll be paying ;)

Sorry to hear this Stu, you must be gutted, when it was looking so sweet too

Hope the insurance gets sorted quick.

Pete

Stuart - All I meant was you've got insurance, he's got insurance, no one was hurt. It's all repairable, so not the end of the world.

Maybe think twice about parking on the side of the road to use a cashpoint, maybe the sight lines where you parked arn't clear to neanderthel van drivers so don't park there again.

Wish you good luck in getting it put back together - it looked excellent.

FFS shutup!! :nelson:

Oh no, what a mess!

I'm sure the insurance will get it sorted mate and it'll be as good as new.

It's just typical things like this happen to one of the nicest Z's around

One thing that will be interesting is seeing how the unbreakable Stillen front is repaired after all the arguments about them being tougher than fibreglass.

:(

Chris.

Ditto all the above.:(

The main thing is, at least you got his details, and you know you are going to get it fixed up again.

But I know how annoying, upsetting and frustrating it is! If you have another 9 of these you will be chasing my record!! :(

Hi mate

Sorry to here about and see your car, but it's not too bad and at least you got the guys insurance details. My Z was hit by an arsehole in stolen VW golf. He lost it on a bend and hit me three quarter on smashing the front bumper fogs etc then bounced up and landed on the bonnett and n/s wing. To add insult to injury he then reversed over the bonnett righting off the n/s wing, headlamp and bonnett and also the aircon condencer. Then drove off.

The Police never found him and I had to claim off my own insurance and as a result it goes down as a blame worthy accident. Pissed off? you'd better believe it. The car was in a one condition but no body mods. Thats all changed now as a result and she looks an absolute Peach now. I even changed the colour. When I get my membership access I'll post some pic's, but I'm not telling any of you guys what the colour No is it's unique:dance:

So I hope you told your insurance company of any mods etc because the are fickle b***ards. Good look. Remember the Phoenix arose from the ashes:D (I don't mean burn it just make it better)

Echo's all of the above :(

Stu, ffs mate GUTTED is all I can say...

Also, is anyone surprised people drive away from accidents after reading the above? It would certainly make me think twice if I thought I was gonna get my head caved in for an accident... In other words, I COMPLETELY agree with what Mike said ;)

CheerZ,

Andy

Sorry to hear about your car m8, it usually is other people that fook our cars up!

I think a lot of peoples initial reaction would be to think 'stupid ****er' & feel like kicking off. It's if you react on that feeling that's the problem. It's scary to think that some people do tho:(

dont send me sh!tty messages by PM please, i thought what you said was a little insensitive.

As you wish chum, but you might like to read the thread before you kick off.

Oh dear

heh !! reminded me of the good 'ole days for a minute then !!:D ;)

If you have issues start them off in fight club please, this thread won't be locked but I will purge it of any hostility

Bloody hell Stu... You did well to keep your calm.

Hope that you get it all sorted out and back to looking as good as it was.

Hardluck Stu, but these things do happen unfort',

reading this you would have thought someone had died.

I know its a major hassle you can do without, but it can/will be put right after all.

Just glad yu aint got two broken legs.. now that would be serious.

gud luck.

Shit luck that Stu. :( :(

Hope it all gets sorted for you.

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Gotta echo Richard's comments, Stu. Unbelievable the amount of damage the van driver caused during bloody parking manoeuvre!

Hopefully insurance will be straightforward and things get sorted quickly for you mate.

Sorry to read Stuart - shame what a hassle.

Regards,

Geoff.

Just like to say thanks for all the txt messages, phone calls, PM's, e-mails, msn shouts and forum posts.

I didn't think so much sympathy could come form a broken wing and front bumper  .

She'll be fixed by the end of Feb and hopefully looking better than ever :hyper:. But until then I'm gonna patch her up and keep her sweet.

And I'll try not to park on the side of the road as well

:smw:
