Hi,

The zed has reputedly a problem with the rear cylinders overheating!

This is alledgedly down to too much of the water channel flashings left in the block, from the original casting!

They don't let coolant flow to the rear cylinders easily and can be removed if you have an engine rebuild!!

Also problems with the plenum design and heat from the turbos can mean the charge air is hotter at the rear cylinders!

So just out of interest chuk down what cylinder failed on your motor?

I had all the casting flash removed and new plugs put in and it still over heated on six Lol

I think they did some testing on the oz forum and no 6 receives the most air, leaning out the back cylinders:(

SO which numbers are at the back of the engine? We talking firing order ?

I think it goes closest to you on the drivers side is no. 1 and furthest away on the passenger side is no. 6.

I had my engine rebuilt by Jimmer after melting #6 piston.

Dam will now have to put my car on piston no 5, although it could be a valve, will have to explore :D

No.6 always has a lower compression figure in my experience, even on good engines with all healthy figures, no.6 will be the lowest. It runs leaner and hotter.

I tested an engine the other week with 3,4,5,6 all with Zero compression  and I could'nt even test 1 and 2 as the coilpacks had melted themselves inside the head
