I know there are probably thousands of posts on this subject but I'm lazy;)

So, it's probably about time I changed them (66k miles). Before I go and order everything I've one question:

I understand why the valves need replacing but what's the deal with the hoses. Forgive my ignorance, but aren't they just hoses?

Courtesy list the valves as service replacement items but do not mention hoses, hence my confusion:confused:

Thanx

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Normally those hoses will rip apart once you try to remove them, unless they have been recently replaced.

Sometimes they've also become so hard and impossible to get off, that you need to cut them in half.

The hoses have restrictors in them, kind of like washers but with smaller holes in the middle. The hoses need replacing cos the holes get full of oil.
