You hould feel alot more comfy in the zed,I find that mR2's are a bit twitchy, wheras a zed being bigger and heavier is alot more stable.

But when you throw you zed around for the size of it you'll be amazed at how well it sticks.

Having said that I went from an Astra GTE cabriolet to a zed, which wont be the same as a MR2 to a zed, but my brother had a UK non turbo MR2 which I borrowed often so im not completley clueless.

I remember a good comparison made by John Newcomb (a former 300zx'er) who said the ZX was like riding on the back of a tiger, but the MR2 was like trying to hang on to its fcuking tail!!!!

I dont think the zed will dissapoint you.:D

Post a piccy when you get it.

Is it on a slow boat from China? LOL

My apologies, Japan.

Trust me youll love it.

What info you got on it then? Year, miles, colour, auto, manual, 2+2, 2 seater etc?

"He who rides the tiger, finds it difficult to dismount" - Rudyard Kipling, I think ....

Anyway, a mate of mine has a tweaked MR2 Turbo and it's a pretty swift car. Certainly a good match for a Zed whilst hurtling around the tight twisty lanes, over taking etc. However, with an MR2 you have to rev the spuds off it, whereas a Zed has tons of torque and is much more stable at high speeds and on long sweeping bends.

Its a 1990 TT T-bar 2+2 manual in red. Grade 4 condition. 44,000 miles. 18 inch rims and a dirty big single exit exhaust. Looks lovely. I can put up a picture from the auction but am new on this and dont know how.

Sounds good, youve chose a fine colour too;)

If you post a link to the page on the auction site on here im sure someone on here will kindly transport it over here for you.

We're a helpful bunch here:D

Thanks for all that. I hope it is as good as it looks in the pics when it get of that boat!

Hope it goes on the boat last and off first then!!!

One of the young upstarts at work has a tubby and I gotta say it is quick. Its running 1 bar with a 5" exhaust and it goes like stink. But boy is the back end twitchy. In the dry it squirms but in the wet it snakes all over the place.

In a straight line drag on a dry day it'd give the Z a good challenge mainly due to the mass difference, but I'd still rather have a 300 than a hairdressers car :D !!

Besides, at least we have a decent sized boot for putting lots of beer in!!

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

These red ones are getting a bit common, i mean they are gonna be the new escort/bmw arnt they??;) :D :slap:

The handling between the series I, II & III models varies a lot. Early ones are seriously twitchy at the rear and a real challenge, the newer ones are better and also more powerful. My mates one is making over 225 rwBHP, which ain't bad for a hairdressers car !

Hi Justin,

Car looks really nice, red is the best colour too!!, is the rear left hand tail light OK though?, looks like its got cling film on it or something!!??

Did you buy it off ebay? saw a similar ad on there, seem to be a few dealers selling via this now.

You'll like it more than the MR2, has more of an exotic feel to it

Hmmm, seen these pictures somewhere here before - quite recently .. perhaps it was one of our traders ... :)

Having said that - still looks lovely .. nice one, Justin - you'll love it.

Well done sir - you really should have waited for a black one though - the red performance deficit is quite noticeable ;););)

Enjoy - and good luck with the waiting! :D

Mr2's are lovely cars, comfy inside and nippy, I also like the way they look,

As Andy Said the difference in handling between revisions is immense, Rev 3 being the best, Ive been the passenger of a rev1 Mr2 when its lost control and the driver could do nothing about,

I much prefer my zed though :)

To answer all those guys out there who say you have seen my car on here before then you may be right. It has been all over the place it would seem!

A guy called Terence from a Autoadvan had it advertised on Ebay. I made a bid for it and was the high bidder at the time when Terence mailed me and said that the car had been sold. I was a bit gutted cos it seemed such a good one.

I was browsing the jap auctions a day later through Bonsaicars and bugger me if it wasn't coming up for auction that very night! I made a bid for it through Bonsaicars who have been very good so far and the car is now mine at last!

I agree about the rear light though, it does look like it has a problem with it although it was not mentioned in the auction sheet or by the Techy that looked over it from Bonsaicars. Oh well, we will soon see.

Thanks for the replies though guys :)
