I dont think an MOT says you have to have them in the first place and a lot of cars dont have them. But it may be a thing that they have to have them past a certain year.

Thing like that which are not on every car anyway, usually have a rule of if its there, it has to be working. So I dont thing whether it's flush or proud makes any difference.

I could be talking out of my arse though/

Some cars have them in the wing mirrors and they are flush, I doubt that there is much regulation reguarding this, although you may have to be able to see them from behind......

From what I can remember, I think the law states that if you have any indicators, they must work but more importantly, indication must be visable from behind, infront and to the side of the car.

If I remember correctly, Porsche Boxsters don't have side repeaters but the front indicator is on the corner so that it is visable from the front and side.

I could be wrong though!

I think I've read about this before. If you have side repeaters currently fitted, they cannot be removed by law.

Could be wrong though. ;)

Side indicators viewed from behind????

This would outlaw wide rear arch kits!

Surely they must be visible from the side (hence the name SIDE Indicators!)

Easy way to check is to talk to your local MOT tester - they all interpret the rules differently anyway when it gets to finer points like this.

No no...indicators must be visible from behind...that's why there're usually 3 sets : fore, aft and side.

Side indicators can be flush with the car, providing their light can still be seen.

FFS - more *****x!!! :D :D

side repeaters MUST be fitted for the MOT from around 86> IIRC

they must be visable from the side. IF the front indicators are wrap round jobbies and are visable from the side then this is acceptable

you DONT need to see them from the rear, thats what the rear indicators are for!!!!! :D
