These guys do some, if that's any help for you.

While I'm here, could you possibly answer a dumb question for me? Which direction does the shift knob turn in order to come off, clockwise or anti-? I needed to be in to the rubber boots today, and whichever way I turned it the bloody thing got tighter!

Raz, lefty loosy, righty tighty.

Having said that if it is the original, it has thread lock on it, put a towel over the leather to protect it, hold on to the bood and get a 'Kin big wrench on it.

Ginge (lol), is that to get me back for saying you should buy an NA??

Matty, found it easiest to do the largest surface first, spray the edges, wait for it to get tacky then pull like fook. Have to say I am uing a vynl (that dont look right.lol) cos its easier to work with and cheap as chips whole lot (5m x 54' roll, 3 cans of adhesive) 48 of your best english pounds

Jock, you bugger! Looking good so far mate. Cant wait for the finished pics.

All finished for Sunday??? ;)

looking good for it James, got all the dash panels done today, so just the doors and the two rears to do tomorrow/ sat. Definately going to have a go at making the boots as well. So if it looks shit, no taking the piss:mad:

Whose been a busy boy now then. 99 front, new flash interior... is there no end to your talents Jock? Look forward to seeing pics when finished.

dont know about the talents mate, but there is no end to how far I will go to avoid paying someone to do stuff:D

And I dont know if this is known or not, but when I took the tweed off my doors I found black vynl underneath. So if you are sick of the tweed on your doors, take it off, wipe with a rag soaked in lighter fuel or thinners and bob is your mothers brother.

** this is the case with my doors, I dont accept any responsibility for your doors if they are different. And I am covering it anyway.:D

Will you james? oh, please say you will!!

Looking good mate.

The doors should have a sponge coating on them, which can be a total pain in the butt to get off.

I personally didn't take these off and instead retrimmed over the top of them. Worked out about the same money as you spent.

But I've bought a Ztoyz kit now including the seats so all this will be coming off soon and Ztoyz stuff will be going on (not been delivered yet).

Looks the nuts mate! All ready for tomorrow as well :D :D :D See you then!

All finished in time for tomorrow! Didn't get around to popping over (obviously!) Got caught up with stuff over here. See you tomorrow though mate.

Looks nice Jock - very neatly done.. Interesting choice of colour too - did you know that the US Z's had an interior choice that looked very much like that for the dash etc?

  • Author

I didn't mate , no. I did think of doing it the same colour as the car, but thought it might look a bit boudoirish (is that a word). Did get a bit carried away and did the targa edgings as well, was casting a sideways at the dash surround when sanity stepped in :)

Looks nice as a colour for the trim - good job you didn't do the dash though, it looks awful as a colour for the dash :D
