am in the middle of fitting my 99 front end.

I offered it up, and cant get it to sit flush, have the drivers side flushish, but the passenger side is riding about 1/2 inch low, and when I tighten the bolts, its just pulling the bumper or the bodywork out of shape, any ideas??

I will, if and when, at the moment it is like runner up in the "looks good from a distance award.

Jock, the fitting is not a straight forward bolt on, in fact it is very much easier if you have an assitant.

Have you left the complete support beam on the car? the bit that had the white foam bit stuck to it in the middle. After having similar problems I found it much easier to dispense with the middle section of this (cut with a saw) just leave the end sections that house the spot lights or indicators dependant on what spec. then loose mount on to the two centre fixings between the headlights and loose fit the 10 mm nuts at each corner and then loose fit the two 10 mm bolts at each corner.

Now with an assistant holding the front corner in place tighten the front 10mm nuts on one side then pull/ position the rear of the side section and whilst the assistant holds in place tighten the side 10 mm bolts, do both sides and then return to the first side you did and be prepared to take a bit of time finalising the fit ...eg undoing moveing, tightening , loosen, tighten again etc, once one side is right lock all fixings up on that side including the side bracket.

Go to the other side and do the same, if it is any

conciliation the first one I did, was on my own and was a real pain and although they are a Nissan part they still are not a super perfect fit first time, but as they are flexable you can malipulate them, goodness knows how it is done with solid fiberglass ones!

Anyhow good luck sure you will manage it and the look will be worth the effort.

cheers jeff,

I will try that in the morning.

Thankfully I havent finished the painting, else I would be kicking myself, the scratches I have managed to put on it are easily covered.

Jock, PM me if you need a hand. I'm off on hols tomorrow at 10:30am but can pop round early if you need me.

Dave,

Cheers for the offer, hope you enjoyed, are enjoying your holiday.

Jeff,

You are the man. Cut that support bar out and fitted like a dream. One question, whats the sensor wire screwed on to the bottom of the support bar?

I've attached a pic, some saw it in the flesh at the greyhound today. Not perfect as the paint has to be flattened and buffed, but going the right way

They're so bloody nice!

Jock the sensor is for the air con display to read ambient air temperature, either find anothe location to screw it to or as I have cable tie it down to some thing solid, but not the air con dryer ( silver cylinder thing ) glad to hear it fitted ok in the end.
