As many of you know, I'm a huge Le Mans fan. Missed last year due to honeymoon but managed to get 15 or so friends (some from here, others not) to sign up for this year.

Been looking forward to it for months and a day before we're due to leave Rachel (my wife) gets massive stomach pains and is ambulanced in to hospital. She's been in a couple of days now and they can't find thr problem.

There is a possibility that they'll find the problem and I'll still have time to get down there for the weekend but I'll need to get another ferry or Eurostar ticket.

Does anyone know a good way to get reasonably priced tickets at short notice ? Can I just turn up ? A brief search gave the result of 'rip off prices for anyone desperate enough to book at the last minute'.

If anyone could help me then I'd be eternally grateful.

Cheers

Dave

P.S. And anyone reading this when they return and wondering why I blew you out - I'm sorry !

Hope you wife feels better.

If you are in a rush, you can get a really cheap flight I bet, and have a friend that you trust to drive home.

Even if you drive home I cant see every Euro Tunnel train being booked up and every ferry the same. If one is booked get the other. A Ferry only takes an hour.

very sorry to hear about Rachel, best wishes from us all (and the bump)

you can book and/or turn up late at night/early morning for massively reduced prices on both ferry and chunnel, all the time i think

very off-peak times

Oh shiznit, sorry to hear.

Best wishes Dave and hope all is well.

All the very best mate,

Glen

As above Dave, hope Rachel is ok and makes a speedy recovery.

Hope shes ok, worry about the race when shes better, if you miss it this year its not the end of the world.

All the best.

Many thanks for the sentiments everyone. I will think about flying - hadn't considered that. Otherwise I'll try turning up at the port.

As everyone says, it's only a race though ...

Dave

P.S. Craig, will call you shortly

I hope Rachel is Ok, Probably doesn't help but my Mum and Dad have been looking forward to it for the last year and they might not be going for a very very similar reason.

It is only a race, there will be many more!

Thanks for all your help with Le-mans details and I hope you manage to get there.

And thanks to you Paul for being the only person who hasn't rung me up this morning and made me feel worse by saying they're on the way and wanting to make arrangements to meet up !!!

I hope Rachel is on the mend. Even if you are not there in body I am sure you will be there in spirit, I'll have a beer for you mate.

All the best to you both,

Paul and Chelle.
