Has traction control ever been an option on Zeds? It seems to me it would have been a sensible idea. How easy would it be to fit?

I've just had a scary moment in mine 60mph in the wet on a straight bit of motorway, I gave it a bit and the car suddenly wasn't pointing straight anymore. I let off and all was well again but what a heart stopping moment. There cant be too many cars out there that can spin the wheels at 60!!

Regards

if you want it, theres a group buy going on at the moment for traction control, fully adjustable & with launch control.

speak to Luke @ the Zedcentre 01159 676356

but be quick, its coming to an end now & orders will be placed shortly. :)

look here for details on the system

Sorry to be a pain but does anybody know how much they are?

Paul

£540 inc VAT, adjustable slip control and launch control, a huge saving on the Racelogic RRP !

The adjustable slip control means you can pre-set different slip settings, for both wet and dry conditions ie set 0% slip for wet roads and 10% slip for dry roads for safe, controlled sideways action.

The launch control sorta speaks for itself !! ;) :D :D

If you want it fitted that £100 inc VAT, but if you're a bit a DIY fanatic there are plenty of people on the site who've got it and are happy to advise on fitting.

Like Paul said though - if you want it at this price then you'll need to phone Luke REALLY sharpish as we've now got enough people to go ahead with the group buy; so as soon as the order's dispatched I guess that'll be it for the discount price !

Cheers !

Oh - and if you want some testimonials on the system just do a 'search' on Racelogic, or traction control from the tab at the top of the page !

IMHO Its the best mod you can do on a Zed, and should really be considered as one of the first on the list. just remember...

POWER IS NOTHING WITHOUT CONTROL.

Tim

My traction control activates virtually every time I take my car out in the wet. Pulling out of tight junctions, you dont need much power to make it spin. Even when accelerating hard in 2nd gear causes it to spin sometimes. The TC controls it keeping me going in the right direction.

Konrad, have you heard anything from Luke re: numbers and expected order/delivery dates etc... I guess I'm waiting for a call from Luke to take payment details...?

Can't wait to get hold of one of these... :D :D :D

I couldnt wait to get hold of mine, you then have hours of taking your car apart and soldering in the most difficult places.

LOL

Well worth it though.

Stuart

Have spoken to Luke today (Thanks Konrad for the offer). He is aiming to call everybody involved before the end of the week to confirm details, pricing etc. He mentioned a delay in manufacture due to a recent large order to the states, I am sure he will tell all when he speaks to those concerned.

Phone bill will be large after the conversation with Luke, I can't seem to shut up when talking to him, we just keep chatting Zeds.

Take Care All,

Paul.

I'll be honest Stuart, I don't think I'll be doing it myself. In two minds at the moment...

I'm not great mechanically but I'm ok with electrics. Had a look at smw1's excellent install guide and I'm tempted to give it a go.

Watch this space... :D

Its not that bad. Just time consuming. Do you have a laptop? Cos you should change some of the values on the TC, which can only be done with a lap top.

Stuart

Yep Stuart. Have got a laptop. I assume it uses a 9 pin serial port and comes with the necessary cable and software?

Yeah, it seems Racelogic have just supplied a large order to the US and are currently out of some of the components. They say it could be 6 - 12 weeks :(

Like yourself I'm desperate to get it fitted, but I guess I'm going to have to wait a little longer ! :(

Cheers !
