Phew! That's a relief, I was just thinking this thread was gonna need an injection of "eh, eh, eh ... it's only a debate of foreign boogers speeding" ...

Besides, I'd say Tim must definitely have a sense of humour; just look at his post-count, you can't carry on that long on here without one!! ;)

And, hey, just ocassionally wouldn't it be nice to hear a politician come out with such an honest and forthright response! :D :D

Cool, its not just me people argue with ;) ;) ;)

My mate's tool exploded after going with the girl from no. 70.

works for me this morning, but didn't yesterday. Probably hit his bandwidth quota yesterday with all of us trying to download... :)

Having started the 'getting nicked in France thread - I recalled that I didn't have the necessary dosh on me and so got wheel in the back of the Gendarme truck to 3 separate towns to try and empty sufficient funds.

I still came up about £70 short and they had to wake up a judge so I could explain the problem to him. He let me of the £70 over the phone (must have been my French that impressed him !).

So then I was taken back to my car, just 2 and a half hours later, and £600 lighter!

I was actually on my way to meet my girlfriend's (now WIFE's) parents and I didn't want to be late.

SO I treally had to get the hammer down after they let me go !!!!!!!

Gio..sorry I didn't read your message earlier... :(

If it is speeding on public roads you are after...go to my SPEEDING section and you have 20 vids (so far) to choose from.

Have fun (and broadband LOL) :) :) :D :D

They may, from time to time, **** up my perception but they don't affect my spelling and punctuation too badly ;) ;)

By the way, I don't actually take drugs hehe ;)

Great story - there was also a story in that mag recently on an EVO doing 180 under the Hatfield tunnel on the A1M.

Anway - when are we going to have a meet on a early Sunday morning at 4.am doing the max through Hatfield tunnel????

Anyone up for such a speed trial???

Of course I'm only joking, am I????

Tanzx.

This guy was watched by the police at 120 through 40mph roadworks then at up to 156. He said as an excuse that he had just fallen out with his girlfriend.

My understanding of this case was that the guy was already banned and was uninsured, so it wasn't just the speed that was important in the sentencing, although that's not the spin that the media are putting on it.

Also, WillieO said that he was seen at 120 in a 40 limit through the roadworks. It may be wrong, but I heard from someone that lives there that he hasn't seen anyone working there in the last year and that the 40 limit extends way past the end of the roadworks anyway.

Contrast the sentence in that case, where no-one was hurt, with this one: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2003/05/16/nspeed16.xml&sSheet=/news/2003/05/16/ixhome.html . The driver was uninsured, had never passed a test, had been fined numerous times before, was doing 60 in a 30 and knocked a 15 year old off his bike, killing him. A fine of £200 (and a 2 year ban) seems somewhat lenient in comparison!

There was a guy recently who had over 80 convictions for motoring offences and stealing cars and killed a child for the SECOND time in a stolen car!

I think he only got a few years.
