Hello guys,

 

I need to load windows onto a laptop that has been formatted. The only thing is it hasn't got a floppy drive so I can't use a start-up disk. It has a cd rom and I've tried changing the setup to check cd first on boot-up, but it won't recognise any operating system. Any ideas?

Hi Vijay have you tried seting it to check d for boot up and botting with the windows cd in drive if i remember rightly i think the windows cd can also be used as a boot disk appologies if im wrong but worth a try

it doesn't recognize any of the windows cd's as a boot up disk:(

Without a Floppy drive you are shagged as they say, unless you take out the h/d and get it configures in another same spec laptop first, then plug it back in.

 

Thats why even 1980's systems have 3 1/2" floppys......HTH;)
