Well nice to see this place is still ticking along nicely. I havent had my zed for many years now however the old man does still have one. He has decided he is pulling the engine to do the head gasket and has asked what else should be done ideally while its out. Things that are easier done while its out and then you can rest in the knowledge that its done. If someone could give us a list of stuff then I can just pass it onto him and he can decide what to do. Also he needs a new knock sensor as he has broken the connector on his if anyone has one. Ta Glyn

liquid leathers stuff is fantastic, they will match your colour and you can even spray it on if you wanted to do a whole seat etc! Some of the Esprit boys have even used it to chage the colour of a seat!

All back together and running again (just a few bits left to go back on) :D hadnt broke just stripped a load of teeth, new cambelt retime and running sweet again. Sussex stu even appeared at one point and helped the old man remove the crank pulley.

Thanks for the suggestions but pulle one cam belt cover last night and it aint turning! So guess that keeps me busy this weekend!

just to point out he dosnt have my 95TT his is older and I think will have a series 1 PTU. Wheres the edit post gone lol

Blimey it feels strange to be posting back here :D Anyway I dont have my zed anymore but the old man does, it just stopped on him last night and the wouldnt restart. From memory and a quick flick around here it seems to fit with a PTU failure. All the auxiliary belts are turning when the ignition turns so engine seems to be turning over freely, just wont start. Not had a chance to look at it in detail but any advice on things to check would be great. Cheers Glyn ex 95 TT

Well those of you that remember will know that i had a zed and an esprit. Anyway dave is pretty much spot on on what he has said, but i shall elaborate a bit more. The model they have is the V8 and as stock is neither intercooled or charge cooled(I believe could be wrong). On a whole they have really made a mess of it, and this has attracted alot of discussion in the esprit comunity. What they are trying to do is actually incredibly easy with a V8 all they needed to do was have bigger turbos a racing chip and then upgrade the gearbox with an upgrade from derick bell that changes the final gearing. With this it would be feesable to break 200mph. I havent followed it and infact havent seen it so dont know all the details but the conclusion in the esprit comunity is that they have gone for making TV not achieving the goal in the best way which is at the end of the day i suppose their choice, they did approach a few people and were advised of they way to go but didnt take that advise. also you could download google's tool bar as this has a built in popup stopper

Firstly mike :xxx: Hi Geoff I understand exactally where you are comming from I was lucky enough for a short period to own both an esprit and my zed. Now the zed was quick probably a resonable match for the esprit in a straight line however the esprit blows it away in road handaling it is just fantastic and as a result i sold the zed and now just have the esprit. As with the Zed there are gooduns and dogs out there so be carefull the haven for everything esprit is esprit haven As for your choices if you are set on a V8 then go for a late one but im affraid you can still be looking at 20k+ for a good one the engine note through the standard box aint that good but there are some fantastic aftermarket boxes with a great sound!! The S4s is a verry sorted model and wouldnt see you far wrong with a goodun One guy on the forum that we are setting up at the mo has had his 6yrs and not one problem If you want any more advice feel free to ask and i wish you all the best which ever way you decide to go. Nice one fas thanks for getting back its not for me personaly and they guy has a quote for £6k ouch although i do think it would look the nuts on the wedge esprit never know if i have a spare £6k may consider it! A while ago remember someone saying that they found a company that did lambo door conversions??? if whoeve it was can give me a shout i know someone who wants them on a lotus esprit!! Chears :eek:

Its almost definately a scam i read about it on autotrader a while back what they do is pay for the car with some form of stolen bonds but by the time they clear the bank has found out that they are dodgy and thus you are left with no money and no car! works something like that anyway been a while since i read it would stear well clear mate

Well if you decide to go ahead with it i would do two things 1 wire it in to a switch so as you can have it on as and when you want 2 Wire it in with the interior light so as it comes on when you open the doors If done well i think it could be a cool touch Glyn

Only thing with sending an email is make sure you dont use the one off the request as this to could be bogus or check it out first
