This should have been done before but I'm still feeling a bit disconnected from the world at the moment... It's happening, but I'm not participating...

 

Firstly I need to say that I am a bit disappointed in the 2 members that a) posted the pictures on the forum and b) named the people involved, especially as it was obvious from previous posts that we were not being named. I had decided on the way home that I was not going to put this on the board just yet. Maybe I would have after a couple of days, but even now, looking at them brings it all back 10 times worse than normally. However, the decision to put them up was taken out of my hands it would seem.

 

It would have been appreciated if I had received a courtesy call first, rather than just logging on and being presented with them. Shows remarkable lack of sensitivity and I'm sure that no one else would like pictures put up on the board of their car in such a state when they had not been consulted. They were up just 3 hours after it happened....

 

That said, I guess that they serve as a warning not only to me, but to others as well.

 

 

 

 

Anyway, in order of occurrence....

 

Firstly I'd like to thank Latz for all his hard work that he did on my Zed and for taking over when the accident happened. Thanks Latz.. :)

 

Secondly, Johnny and the GPS crew who flew about like mad things to get to us and make sure we were all right.

 

Thirdly, to Emero and Wonk who went out of their way to follow me all the way to Bedfordshire to make sure that I got home safely.

 

To all of you, heartfelt thanks and apologies that this wasn't up before now.

I can sympathise with what you are saying, and at the end of the day I'm very pleased that both Latz and you are okay and no innocent third parties were injured or involved in the accident. A car, however loved, is just a lump of metal and replaceable, that's why we all pay insurance.

 

I'm sure you don't want to go into details on an open forum, but there has been a lot of talk on MSN as to what caused the accident. When you feel up to it, you might like to belay the speculation, and clarify the facts.

Tim, agreed - a car is just a lump of metal and the main thing is that everyone involved was OK.

 

I am aware of the rumours and speculation flying about on MSN but as far as I am concerned, it's nothing to do with anyone and I don't wish to keep going over it.

Glad you are OKish and trying to get on with things. I bumped my zed last October thanks to a taxi driver pulling out in front of me. I spun out of control on the wet road as i overtook him.

First bump in 18yrs. Apart from the accident the worst part was the stick from the lads at work. But after a couple of weeks they found something else to amuse themselves with.

Like you say every1s OK. Put it down to experience albeit a bad one.

Sorry you feel like that Anita,Latz called me at 11.pm on the night it happened he was pissed off to say the least.He asked me to post the pics because he felt he was so lucky to still be alive.

 

I did not post any details as to what/why how it happened,reg plates,speeds at the time, etc etc.I did not even say who was involved.

 

My concern was that you were both ok.

I can understand that, Mac, but it wasn't his car. Yes, we were both damned lucky but maybe I didn't want the photos going up.

 

 

I'm not trying to make a big deal of this, but I do feel it was slightly tactless to post them up when you didn't know that I would be OK with it. You've got to admit, it would be obvious that questions would be asked as soon as they went up.

 

Anyway, what's done is done, I just needed to make my feelings known on that matter.

There was nothing libalous? I believe that Timmy said that when HE had taken HIS car upto 160 HE was on his own. He did not say that Anita had been travelling at these sort of speeds.

I don't know what all this MSN stuff is about and I'm sure this would shed some (unwanted) light on what's going on. But whether or not Mac made an error of judgement, and I haven't a clue either way, I'm sure it was done with the best intentions.

Mac and I have since spoken and all has been worked out. It was a shock seeing them posted but I know now the reasons behind them going up.

 

I've made some very good friends from this forum, including Mac and I know that he would not have posted them with the implicit intention of causing hurt. :)
