Has anyone used nangkang tyres ??

If so what did you think of them ??

Any feed back would be nice as I am looking to replace my tyres at the moment .

Cheers

Never heard of them.

If you owned a Ferrari or a Lambo would you even think of putting them on? No? Thought not.......

I suppose someone has to be the guinea pig, so if you do get a set and they are sticky as snot, but last 50,000+ miles please let us know!:D

You've got c300BHP trying to tear them off your rims, I'd tend to play safe and get a well know brand. Some here like the Bridgestones, but I prefer the Toyo's.

Dont know those BUT, I fitted some Kumho's :D to the Zed and too be honest I cant tell the difference between them and superior???????? brands ive had on it before!

OK so on a track maybe but on the road, wet or dry there fine!

And yes Im a ex-superbike nutter so I do go fast!

I've got Hankooks at the moment and they're great in the dry. Should be called Hanfook's once it rains though..

I think that they're better in the dry than my old Toyo's...

I notice that you are near the airport is that Heathrow ??

You said that you prefer Toyo's do you get them local ?? if so where and what sort of price do you pay ??

Can't compare really, but mine's got Uniroyal Rainsports - they seem great in the dry, no problems flying round roundabouts etc :). The back end's only stepped out when wet.

What's people's opinions on Uniroyal cos I've not heard much?

Cheers

Funny

I was actualy offered tires called nangkang two days ago.

I had never heard of them before.:D

nankang are shite.

They are not for a sports car, or any car driven enthusiastically for that matter.

The Zed is a sports car, with carefully thought out handling etc, it deserves a proper set of tyres. Any car is only as good as the tyres it rides on really.

Toyos. :)

I've only seen NangKangs on vans before.

I've got the uniroyles on mine too. I'm v. impressed with them. Grip in the wet is amazing compared to other tyres I've tried.

Wouldn't bother with the nankangs, I had them on my old rover and they were crap even compared to the cheapies I replaced them with

My car was delivered from the importer with new Nankang tyres all round. They are a Korean company, and you can find their site on the web. I found them a hard compound, which was okay in the dry and for a very long life. I was very uncomfortable with them as soon as the roads got damp or rain.

Unless they have changed (this was 2 years ago), I would spend a bit more and get one of the recommended makes. I have.

[i still have the tyres (and wheels) if you want to make me an offer?]

oneday,

Bridgestone S02's are superb but obsolete now and the S03's just arent as good.

Get yourself some Toyo Proxes. Have already told my tyre man to get some in as they are brilliant.

Just remember there are only four patches of rubber the size of your hand between you and the road, so do you wanna risk putting inferior products there? Nope, I wouldnt either.

Just my thoughts for ya!

Nick

I pretend to work, they pretend to pay me!

Ive got khumos on the front, theyve got a lovely traed pattern but shite grip, glad theyre nearly knackered, a kic up the arse to get some decent ones!

Thanks for all of your replies

I was just feeling the water about the Nangkangs I may try the Toyo's as some of you have given some good feed back about these.

Thanks

Bwahaaahaaahahaaaaa!!! :D:D:D

I've got a brand called Nexen, not had any problems with them. And they only cost me £60 each, and thats fitted!

I have just fitted Rainsports, if you look at Mytyres, they have test results. Rainsports beat them all, wet or dry.

If you're happy with them then that's great. I did have a mooch through that site (http://www.mytyres.co.uk) and may not have found the same test as you, but what I would say is, in which category are they highly rated? Is is the fat, lardy arsed, 300bhp sports car that can do 160+ or the light, nimble, 120bhp hot hatch that's raced round Tesco's car park of an evening ? Just horses for courses that's all.

Too much of this is subjective anyway. Certain people told me that F1's are the daddy, so when I was looking for new tyres I asked Mike Feeney for his opinion and he didn't rate them at all. If you ask Pete at SE then he'll tell all the poor people to buy stuff like Falkens, but he'd much rather see every Z on the road with Bridgestones, just because in his opinion they suit the car best. Like I said - it's subjective.

I've done 130,000 miles in my car I have used many different types of tyre. The choice of tyre makes a MASSIVE difference to the feel of the car and handling. Just try letting your tyres down by 10 P.S.I. and see how bad the car feels.

I've used Eagle F1's for the last two changes and they have been equally superb in the wet or dry. The best part is that the last set lasted 16,800 miles (mostly M'way and Dual Carriageway) before being knackered, making them per mile a great investment.

Just do the numbers; £600 (what I paid then) divide by 16,800 miles = 3.57p per mile. Say you get a set of cheapos for £320 and they last 9,000 miles (which is typical, and many drivers get less), that = 3.55p per mile.

If you buy crap tyres for the Z expect the handling to be out of proportionally (exponentially for the literate) worse.

Lots of people rate the Toyos, and the Bridgestones always seem to get excellent reports in tests.
