Well, what a staggering success the congestion charge is. Have you seen on the news how traffic levels in London are down? Well.....if you re-phase the traffic lights back to allowing more than one car through at at time, and wait until the kids are off school until you launch it then OF COURSE THERE'S GOING TO BE LESS TRAFFIC.

I only ever go as far as isle of dogs really, traffic is usually okay on a13 up until dagenham flyovers,

 

My town has discussed it as well i hear, it already costs a fortune to drive your car and they introduce more taxes.

WTF happens to our road tax money then:mad:? And 60% or whatever tax on petrol - where does that go?? Are we paying again cos the government have spent it on other things?

 

Will the next party/mayor elections in the London area be won by the party who promise to abolish congestion charges?

They're planning on the congestion tax here in Nottingham too, in addition to charging you to park at work (which comes in next year I think here).

 

I love this country sooo much !

Makes you wonder why the government let us have any cash at all. I think they're aiming towards stopping all our money at source, and then issuing vouchers or ration tokens in return for VOTES.

 

Soon we'll all be locked in our homes so we can work with no distractions (no money to buy anything with) and any earnings from our productivity can go into the central government account for p1ssing up the wall, and printing huge smiling pictures of Tony Blair to put on every street corner so everyone can see. Or was that Saddam Hussein?:eek: Seems like the same bloody thing these days:(

I did used to stand up for this, my country, if anyone ran it down, but these days cannot think of ONE reason for me to defend it. This place is turning into one big toilet.

I have just come back from a couple of weeks in Lanzarote, surfing. Not a rich country but it is all about standard of living, and with a warm climate and more value on family and friends, the people there seemed to have it sorted.

 

Maybe sell the Z and bugger off........or take the Z with me, there are some fantastic roads out there!

At 5 sterling a Day it wont be long till your paying as much as Us Irish Drivers are for Road Tax 1100 EURO/annum.

The police reckon that there has been a massive increase in reg plate thefts recently, so people can just slap another reg on the car and someone else will get the fine.

 

So surely you can just report your reg plates stolen once and then drive in the congetion charge area and then say, it wasnt me i had my reg plates nicked a while ago!!

 

They reckon the next ones will be on the M25, and the M6 around Birmingham, makes me laugh, the goverment give us crap roads, they get congested, then they charge us to drive on them.

 

Surely they could get the roads sponsored by cigarette companies, they could afford the billions of pounds for repairs as theyre not allowed to advertise anywhere else, except of course formula 1.
