Afternoon All,

After a few aborted attempts to get myself a Z in the UK, I have turned my attention to the Motherland!

Have found a potential candidate, and wanted to throw it open for some comments (seeing as I have asked Jiimer twice about potential buys, and not followed through on either!)

I'd be happy to hear comments and any advice about the whole Japan import process - am looking to use either Algys Autos out of Bristol (bargain basement) or Torque GT (premium, but have not had a price yet).

The car is 1999 TT Auto with 63k KMs and full history.  Price to the uk will be about 18k all in (before a mechanic get's his hands on it and tells me I've bought a lemon!).  The pics are a bit low res, but will hope to get some more when I have get close to concluding negotiations!

Thanks for reading!

Phil

Looks nice from the pics and low mileage too. I bought my 99spec from Japan too. It's an exciting albeit anxious process. You can read more about it here:

Have someone local inspect it for you. I used Josh @ Gorilla Imports as he's someone known to the club. His fees were reasonable. The final price will depend on the auction though.

This is one of the best ways to do it. The standard of cars from Japan is normally much better. So even a "ropey" one is normally better condition than a UK "ropey" one. Having said that, make sure you buy a good one. This does look good, but as Vig says, get a local guy to inspect it, cheak all the usual areas, etc. Best colour by the way....👍

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

Looks a great Z!

as u would expect for a 99 z

A shame the odometer is not showing?
Are u buying it in an auction?
If it is so good when it arrives in the uk u want have too much to worry about. Fog light, MOT which is taken from the engine number which will be taken care of by your importers. Cam belt?
Are u sure u want an auto?

18k for a Z is a lot of cash

l imported my 300 ZX TT 10 years ago which was an automatic now a manual.
It is a different drive now & better!
l also imported it myself without an agent.

good luck

Personally looking at the prices currently as I am, 18k for a clean 99 sounds pretty good. An average price now for a manual TT (I appreciate this is an automatic) is around 15k.

Agreed!

Auto or manual, a genuine '99-spec TT for £18k sounds good!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
