I think i need a new battery as the one i have doesnt seem to be holding the charge for all that long

and i now believe that my spark issues and ecu resets are down to the voltage at crank dropping to low.

 

What do you all recommend i should be looking out for and whats the largest battery dimensions that fit ?

 

I bought a Yuasa 3000 series battery no. 030 (full part number YABYBX3030) from Allparts in March 2020 and it's still going strong. Cost me £104, so I can recommend that!

It fills the battery compartment perfectly and the terminals are the right way round too 🙂

All the other 300zx parts listings have the terminals round the wrong way...... Live should be on the driver's side, when the terminals are nearest the bulk head, not nearest the front of the car 😉

Before you order one, I'll double check in my garage tomorrow, when I leave for work and drop you a text to confirm!

Just went for the larger capacity of what i already had.

Think i will need to modify the battery tray to get this fitted without it sliding about.

 

In a past life i modified the battery loom and reversed the battery connections, makes for a simpler connection in my opinion. 

Nice work Lee - I was going to say, whatever listing Yuasa (or all the other manufacturers) have for the 300zx is often wrong..... As they come with the terminals reversed. they might not fit most Zeds, but they will fit yours 😄  

Personally, I buy mine from Nissan. It’s relatively inexpensive and fits perfectly in the OE battery box so it looks neat.
