Fantastic...

The third of November and already there's a layer of salt on the road.

I was hoping to avoid that until December, rain in a day or so, the Zed's staying in the driveway until then - at least.

It's only showing as 2 degrees tonight, hope that changes for the better.

Flippin 'eck - it's nowhere near cold enough yet!!!!

Your council must want to waste money, in order to secure next year's funding.... ? 

Mind you, 2 degrees tonight - we don't have it that low here yet... I believe Chiltern grits the roads when the temperature is expected to remain at 3 degrees or less for a sustained period.

Fear not, Richard Smith will be out in his - his favourite time of the year to be driving his Z! ?

 

I never drove my Z in the salt, never ever. It was completely rust free and still is, never been welded. The Aston doesn't go anywhere near the stuff either. I cringe at the amount of salt they put down in this country. At the mere hint of 1 degree even with a low dewpoint they're out there lathering the roads in this nasty stuff. Pop across the channel and into northern France and they put it down when there's an actual chance of ice being on the road rather than a bit of frost which has about the same level of grip as a road covered in saline.
