Hi, my late grandfather left me a 1991 300zx twin turbo - just wondering how much it is worth? He bought it new in 1991 all service history and original receipts still here, kept in an inside garage for its entire life. 89000 on the clock and extremely well looked after. Anyone any idea how much it’s worth?

Service history details, MOT status, chassis condition all make a huge difference in value. Rust is a massive factor with these cars and determining their value.

As said above - lots of pics would be needed. If you want to send them direct to a team member rather than on the open forum then please say so and we can give you and address.

Hi and welcome Pete,

I can't add anymore than my fellow members above have - but concur that a nice, unmolested, UK-spec car could be worth in the region of £20k if it's in good (rust-free) condition. Also, it it manual or auto?

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Hi folks appreciate the feedback - no rust that i’m aware of and it’s automatic. It’s about to go through MOT and not aware of any issues that may cause it to fail. I have tried to attach pictures to this post hope it works, as you may see the only issue is it’s missing the Z badge from the steering wheel. not even sure if i want it to be sold lol but it’s hard to get a ball park for price as not many of these left. appreciate any help spacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.pngspacer.png

I had the same phone installed in my Zed when I first bought it..sure it’s sitting up in the loft somewhere ?

Cheers for the response fellas, will put it through MOT anyway and go from there - would be interested in going to one of the meets mentioned to get an opinion on it! Hard to beat the landline in the car lol if only it was hooked up

Looks just like my old Zed when i bought it. Same phone too?. Can’t be too many totally stock zeds around like that anymore.

That's got to be mid-20s I reckon provided it's clean underneath. Lovely looking car. As Joel mentioned, if you go to sell I'd definitely go with a classic auction with international operations versus Autotrader / PH...

I’ll admit I haven’t seen underneath but the sills, exhaust etc and anything i can see without putting it on a ramp aren’t rusted, I’ll be shocked if the chassis is due to where it’s been kept all this time. Will it really fetch that much even with 89,000 miles?

If you were a subscribed member I could do a valuation using our  Club Insurance Valuation Service This would give you what the club thinks/knows what you would need to replace your Z (if you can even find one like yours) if it ever was an insurance loss. Plus it would be a good guide for selling your 300zx.

In the UK z32 300zx world a good condition UK Z is very very desirable. But the unsertain times could slow down any sale or it could be the right car at the right time for someone.

Oh my! It certainly looks like a fine example from those pictures. If it’s as good everywhere else as it looks there, it’ll be worth the top rate.

I’d consider a classic car auction with this one to try and flush out a collector!

My thoughts exactly - lovely example indeed and certainly worth the investment from the right person?

If it's clean and rust-free then definitely £20k+ 300ZX. 89,000miles is still very low for a 30 year old car - even if mileage becomes irrelevant at that age... ?

I just love that 'phone - it adds to the provenance of the car, commensurate of the era from which it came?
