Evening legends,

I know I have a wanted ad up already about this however I’m going to keep bugging everyone until someone agrees to sell me their car ?

I am after a LWB, Twin Turbo, targa, Manual in red or black. Don’t mind higher miles if it’s been maintained and I’m after one that’s on the road (or at least can be done so easily) so an MOT is preferable!

Import would be preferable too, gotta love the JDM!

I have a healthy budget up to £15k for the right car so please let me know.

Hi there,

the cheapest JDM in Japan I could find -  black LWB TT with M/T  £15350

you can add another 3K on that when importing

look at www.TC-V.com & browse through Fairlady Z 1990-1996

good luck with your search

Thanks Arthur.

Yeah I think importing is out of my price range.

I test drove a TT auto last week, first time I’d driven a 300zx and absolutely loved it but I’ve decided I’m definitely after a manual!

Call Jurgen. It won't be a ridiculous price he's asking for this. Then buy the £2k manual kit that's being sold on Facebook group, ship to Jurgen and have him fit it.

You'll have a rust free, well maintained, TT Manual. Damn site less risk that buying any Zed that's been in the UK for a few years.

It’s an option, but I’d prefer a factory manual and got my heart set on red or black.

if I’m still looking in 6 months then I’ll probably look to get an auto and do a swap

cheers for the link though, I’ve started following them in case they get any more

Might be worth a call to PowerZed as he touches a lot of the well maintained Zs and might know of a customer who would consider selling?

Good luck with the hunt and you're doing well to not rush with it.

Can’t blame you holding out for black or a red zed got to be the best colour of choice  imo.  ?

I just think 15K for what he is looking for is optimistic.

Even shocked at the way prices have risen.

I agree… every zed i know thats well maintained and for sale are 20k plus

I am struggling to even find them for sale in the UK. Guess everyone is holding on to them as the values go up. I use Google, Facebook marketplace, Facebook groups, obviously the owners club here, auto trader, eBay and gumtree but they just aren’t there.

anywhere I’m missing that would be worth looking at?

Plenty of autos and NA’s going cheap though.

Have you spoken to any importers?

You might be surprised at what you can have one OTR for from Japan. They have access to sources and auctions us mere mortals can't see.

I’ve been in touch with Torque GT and a couple of others but no joy really, certainly nothing cheap.

Any recommendations?

Torque and JM Imports both have excellent rep and do personal imports for a flat fee.

DCY import too, and are generally at the cheaper end. Though the quality may sometimes reflect that. Having said that I know someone who got a cracking Impreza from them for a good price.

Hi

i have a white 1995 JDM TT, current MOT, lot of work (sills, arches etc) and servicing done at Powerzed.

Its an auto though.

I imported it from Japan myself so only uk owner.

It’ll come with an uncut titanium key, an unopened white TT Hot Wheels model and an untouched still in the box 1/10th scale 300ZX R/C shell (not the Stillen race car shape) from Japan that I’ve never got round to starting.

I’m in Surrey if it might fit your bill-ish.

thanks

Mark

Spoken to DCY, they’ve said £20k and no shipping till June anyway!

That’s interesting! They’ve got a few up, I assume these are sat in a dock in Japan and they allow customers to buy directly and they ship out?

So would have import tax etc on top of that?

Hi there, I  found my Z through TC-V. com
traders in Japan place there cars on this site,

you find ur car, then negotiate a price though TC-V.com

all negotiations go through them & it costs u about £50 maybe more now to use their service.

they make sure the car your buying is genuine & the trader is legitimate.

once agreed the individual trader books the car on a ship to the uk port u requested..

all the car documents are then posted to you from the trader.

Ship arrives in ur uk port, now u get a company to get it off the ship for importing.

this is not difficult as there are companies do this daily.

So yes import tax + vat has to be paid

then has to be MOT’d with engine number if I remember right.

all can be done by yourself, it is daunting but as it takes 3 months for ur car to hit the UK ,u have time.

Traders in Japan are very trusted in their information

pm me if u need any more information
