RichardS
It was the first decent, mild and dry day of the year - so I thought, why not take the Zed out for a spin. Did anyone else think the same.....? I covered about 50 miles across the Chilterns - so technically still local (and I did combine it with the supermarket run) - nice A-roads, a blast on the M40 and some traffic-free B-road action. I wasn't the only modern classic car owner out and about either. I saw some nice 80s and 90s machinery on my travels - so it seems a few others had the same idea! From a couple of '90s Porsche 911s, a 944, a very smart R129 Merc SL500, a Lotus Esprit and a Lotus Elan. I guess today was the day, that people thought their cars had been locked in their garages for long enough, over the winter? 2 Quote I have something to say............ Gaz 300
Itching to get mine out but very wet today. Lee had his M240i out last week and hit a pothole:(
Funkysi
Pissing down all day here today, same again tomorrow and Monday. The Aston stays in the garage (the Z would have done too).
Raja93
I had the same idea today funnily enough as no rain forecasted and I hadn't seen road grit in a while down my end, but ended up detailing the daily as it's recently come back from the bodyshop. Didn't have the energy after that absolute mission of a job, to then have to clean the Zed after a drive, before putting it away under the car cover. Will probs take it out tomorrow though as it's forecast to be dry also ?. Times like this make me look forward to the leaky targa seals replacement, as then I wouldn't have to worry about leaving it out in the rain! Looking forward to tomorrows drive so much, it feels like a lifetime since the last proper drive ?!!
Lexx
There are bits of my Zed on the boat and we went for a trip to Montrose and back to berth a ship. Does that count? 1 1 Quote Zed #2: 1998 Midnight Purple 2+2 NA. (owned 2020 - now) Zed #1: 1995 Blue Slicktop NA (2013-2015)
TheRealNips
Can't take either of mine out at the moment as they are both broken (no brakes and no electrikkery) So after unloading the red one and parking it up: It really really needed a clean to get the salt and mud and road grime off it. This was from one days use when we had all that snow, then I couldn't wash it for 6 days because the hose pipe froze. That was 03:15 on the way to work! I spent 4 hours in the rain washing and rinsing it to make sure there was no salt left anywhere, jacked it up to do underneath and everything. Neighbours thought I was mad! As you can see in the background, the TT is VOR which leads me to: The headlights finally arrived! 21 days and £507 later, we can actually see where we are going at night and don't have to use "The Force" to get home in the dark! Then I went out and worked: So in answer to the thread: no I didn't take the Zed out, but I did lots of car/vehicle related jobs! New alloy is back on and luckily the Michelin front tyre had no damage and still held its air. Photos taken of the pot hole and bent alloy plus receipts and form sent of to DFI road claims unit. So all in hand Richard but the DFI are on a skeleton staff so we expect a wait for any compensation.
Gaz 300
Sun was out so todays the day the Z came out. First stop some of BP's finest and check on the tyre pressures. Thats when its starts as a man comes over to talk to me about the Z. Only when I am in this car does anybody talk point wave and smile at me. ? Drove around aimlessly and even down the scariest road in Belfast. Half way down it the road is like an old wash board to give drivers grip on wet or in ice conditions. Its closed when snow is lying. The rocky road.
Raja93
Got the car cover off and took the zed out for it’s first proper outing since last October, before sending the car off to the chassis shop. Been far too long and god I missed that fear when I floor it! [emoji1]. Went for a blast early morning when roads were empty, filled up with shell v power then continued. In the afternoon we headed up the motorway and back to get a good steady run for an hour. Managed to do about 70-80 miles in the end. First taste of summer today and can’t wait for the warmer and most importantly dry weather. Forgot to take pics when I was out but took a few after the morning outing. Raja93
I get funny looks when the neighbours see me blow drying my cars!Haha I wish I had a compressed air gun like the pro detailers do, to wash out all that water from the gaps/shuts. End up going round the block once after a wash, for it to all come out then wipe it off. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
