Good morning

1991 300zx TT Auto has been sitting idle for 10 odd years.  She will be put in to a garage for a complete overhaul,

But I needs to move her a short distance (500 yards) to get her onto a flatbed and I just want to check I have my bases covered before I run her up:

  1. Fuel, do I need to drain any residule fuel (if any) before topping up with fresh?
  2. Engine Oil.  Is it worth replacing oil? From what I have researched 10-30W Fully Synthetic is ok, unless in extremely low temps.
  3. Transmission fluid.  Again is it worth changing?  Any recommendations?

Thanks in Advance

I think the recommended oil is semi synthetic

After 10 years I would not be starting it just to put on a trailer, there are too many things that need to be checked first. Use a car to pull it onto the road, trailer needs a winch.

Welcome to the Club

I agree….

….And welcome to the club from me too!

After 10 years, I'd get the car to Jimmer's for a full 60k service and re-commissioning.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I towed her with my transit to the flatbed.  Now sitting on my (very understanding) brother's driveway until jimmer can work his magic.

Cheers

Hope it all goes well kia,my 1990 300zx has sat for a year and a half and at 72000 miles needs a cambelt change before i even think of starting it up again. Id really like someone local that can do  the work in our private car park but no one seems to want to touch it.I hope to have all the bits i need from concept z by may and it might be a case of spending extra and taking it down to Bristol and leaving it for a while and get sorted properly.Anyway let us know how things progress for you as it gives others inspiration.
