Hi All,

picking up a 300zx after approx 15years without one. So firstly, I can’t wait to get back behind The wheel again.
it’s a clean car structurally and the engine sounds in good condition. Although after a 2nd test drive (first drive I found the MAF hose was loose and a Vac pipe was off the drivers side intake pipe) it ran, idled and revved, however, it sometime stuttered at 2.5k rpm and almost felt like a ‘limp’ mode situation?  I plan to drive it the 50miles or so home, but should be fine on the motorway as after 2.5k it’s alright.

Any advice on the matter would be appreciated?

car is a 92 LWB na auto ?

thank you

Aron.

Welxome back to ownership.  I' suggest either an air leak or MAF.  It might ever be unplugged.

Assuming you don havr conzult etc, You can pull error codes sticking a pin between 2 of the conzult plug prongs.

Yes, first test drive I came back and looked straight at the MAF and it was loose. Tightened and was better. But less occasionally did the same thing.
I am going to purchase a Genuine MAF too as the one on it is an eBay special!
hoping it comes before I pick the car up next weekend. ?

I’ll look into that plug thing ?

cheers.

If it has an aftermarket MAF I’d say that’s almost certainly the issue, success and longevity rate of these is woeful!

Exactly my thoughts. Have a genuine MAF being delivered on Friday so I shall take it with me to swap over when I pick it up ?
