No different i suppose to the similar system we are operating here for foreign nationals to register to stay, which by all accounts is just as bad.

I think this should read as... Leavers or those who chose to remain.

 

To refer to those who voted to remain as "Morons" is quite offensive and the comment should be Moderated accordingly.

Craig the situation here is quite different, whilst a good few people feel annoyed at the situation I have not spoken to anyone who has talked about returning to the UK as a consequence of changes that may or may not happen after the UK does or does not leave with a or without a deal.

Personally we have made this our home now, have official residencia , nif numbers (tax numbers) bank accounts etc. and Pt health care which is first class by the way.

We had planned this for near ten years so all of our official standing here was in place years ago.

I was referring to the politicians moronic ineptitude to get anything right, those who have continued to stick with their leave vote are supporting these politicians, that is what I said.

I won’t be fooled again when I get another chance to vote. My dad has lived abroad in Spain and France for about 30 years, 15 in each, and i know he will have had everything sorted, as you also do, however he still has concerns about how this is panning out and the problems with bureaucracy.

Firstly I feel your and every leave voters pain, it must be incredibly dissatisfying to see your vote wasted amongst lies and mistruths, together with political spin and games.

 

Whilst I can see both sides of the argument / vote decision, I also see a whole new way the Government has played the last three years and find little confidence in any of the political parties or individuals now and cannot see how on earth this can play out for the good for anyone now, its almost like any advantage to either remain or leave have been eroded away completely leaving them and the UK between a rock and a hard place.

 

Markyb300, my post been "Disingenuous conflating" of your vote / incompetence of the Government ?, no seriously ? it is actually indisputable, any voter takes on a responsibility that cannot flushed away if the wheel comes off later, leaver votes were no way any more important personally than the remain votes was to others.

 

Its a mess and no denying that, and remember this is not a personal dig, this is just banter and whilst the topic is very important I have no political agenda, I made my decision on the UK as whole many years ago and voted with my feet, I actually wish you guys all the best, but fear it will end in tears.

Mmm... very sad about your retirement plans, I was one year into mine when this disaster happened but held on and my Portuguese neighbours and friends have been brilliant, been British and embarrassed has rapidly become the default mode , especially given the present state of affairs.. :mad:

Couldnt agree more, I am against Brexit, but we have completely embarrased ourselves as a nation. Our nation is on the world stage with everyone watching, what kind of example have we set? Three years, three prime minsters, MPs acting like three year olds.... Who will want to do business/trade with us now? I am so sick of hearing about brexit, my wife and I have banned it in the house. It has destroyed this country, people are so polarised now, that they will hate you for no good reason, other than you didnt vote the way they did. I spent the first four months of this year living in Germany, so I had a GB sticker on the car (blue with yellow stars around the GB bit), I get people flashing at me and middle fingers and alsorts... Honestly we have lost as a populace; the MPs, the money men, the illuminati, whatever you want to call them have won. They now have a populace that is under-educated, a press that controls peoples beliefs, a populace that is so deeply divided by each other and will believe anything. If it wasn't for us being 6 years into the 7 year process for getting my wifes citizenship, we would have left by now for a sensible country like North Korea...

I should clarify; It was british cars/people doing that after I got back from Germany. The people I talked to in Germany, didnt seem to care about Brexit and I only ever saw Mrs May on TV once...

Oh I see! Well you could still hardly blame them! My sister lives in Germany and she has started feel embarrassed to be British. Life circumstances led to her living there and she's made a life for herself there. She's not had any bad-feeling from her Germany friends or anyone associated with her although they all look at the UK now as a bit of a laughing stock as do most others.

 

German TV I've seen has had quite a bit of BREXIT coverage as does French TV, especially in recent months. France is also going through a divisive period in politics with Marine Le Penn pushing for France to leave the EU, although in more recent times, she's changed her views.

I work for a German company and totally agree with that! It actually becomes the source of jokes and laughter when discussing with German colleagues!

My Portuguese friends and neighbour think's the UK has gone bonkers! and some canadians I spoke with the other day were equally amused, that said they asked if English was still the dominant language or not, which was a whole different subject..... or was it?
