Got a set of these pipes which the ports going to the cam covers have came loose.

 

i've tried various types of rubber glue but nothing i try seems to fix them in position and they seem to be able to move about.

 

The adaptors are both alluminium so any advice on what can stick them together.

 

 

 

Have a look at Sikaflex Lee, it may adhere to silicone.

Thats whats on it at the moment.

 

I'll try it again but leave it a few days before fitting to be sure.

How about trying that UV activated adhesive that's supposed to be able to glue anything ?

Go and buy a barb fitting with a threaded Male end. Three nuts and a washer. It’s gonna be fiddly but that’s your best bet.

What material is here (arrowed) - is it just silicone or is there a metal part in it?

 

That's just a bit of previous silicon sealer I tried to use.

I mean the small tube/nipple part.

No metal parts apart from the inserts.

Assuming that the silicon nipples have just stretched try reversing the inserts and see it that holds them firmly in place.

If that works I will machine new ones for you with a larger diameter (to be determined) part that goes into the nipple.

 

I've redone them with Sikaflex for now and this time i've covered the neck of the opening rather than what

goes on the metal inside.

 

Done this last night and its dry to the touch now.

 

 

Why does it matter anyway its on the intake side ?
