Hi

I’m a new member with a real love for the Z32. A friend of mine has a TT which seems really clean.

Wanted to understand what I should be looking out for?

Also what’s insurance like on these?

Thanks all for your kind responses.

I have found what I think is a good z32, going to see it tomorrow for a closer look

Gooday.

To answer insurance question I've just renewed with performance direct for £132.

Heavily modified, all declared and agreed value of 12k.

I didn't even bother looking around this year and that's what the no claims on my daily so really impressed with them.

Do be careful re: insurance. Companies like Performance Direct do give good value however the cover is basic as in you don’t get things like European cover or breakdown cover.

I did get an awesome cover from Performance Direct however you get absolutely no European cover, if you do take your Z to the continent you’ll either need to find additional insurance which can be a pain if you do things last minute or swap insurance providers altogether.

Brexit is coming you ain't going no where

I find with insurance policy quoted breakdown they are more expensive than getting a quote direct from a supplier although I've got additional personal cover since I have a few cars and therefore I'm covered in whatever I drive. Also with the age of Zed's now need to ensure they accept cars over 25 years as I did come across some that had small print.

Does the policy cover driving in Europe?

Does the policy cover driving in Europe?

No I have no interest in driving over to Europe anymore.

No I have no interest in driving over to Europe anymore.

Why? A plethora of incredible landscapes, empty roads and good weather. Driving in continental Europe is by far the best way to truly enjoy the Z as it was intended.

European insurance and breakdown cover will continue post Brexit.

I’m sure Gonzo, along with others, haven’t sampled the many great roads the UK has to offer yet. Why spend all that money and go to the hassle of going abroad when we have a lot to offer and experience here first.

Very true there is and I have driven all over Europe and lived over the water for many years. If I was to take a vehicle it would be my Elgrand on a trip down to the med.

So there is an option to get European cover through insurance companies or personal cover which is fine for those that need it.

Plus I can't fit a surfboard in my zed.

Ebbw Vale has nice roads to drive around if you know the area and are local to it or visiting Wales.

Getting to those roads, then finding a time when they’re empty and enjoying good weather makes it a chore - easier and more enjoyable to hop across the channel. Instantly you leave the ferry at St Malo or Roscoff for example and the roads are empty, smooth and picturesque. Our roads are in a terrible state and the majority of them are overcrowded.

There are some great roads in the Breacon Beacons, Northumberland, The Lake District and Scotland however getting there is dreary and it’ll most likely be raining.
