Here is my nice, clean, stock – with loads of club history and paperwork – 1999 Version S, Series 6 NA Auto. I’m putting it here first to give forum readers first crack.

Just a 1999 bumper and red Z do not a true Series 6 make. Series 6 also had other stuff, better brakes, stiffer construction, gold-faced clocks and more – see here. (and JeffTT found a lightweight pulley!). Series 6 is the last model year, only on Japanese market so relatively rare. I think only around 1,000 of all specs were made (did have a link somewhere but lost it).

I first saw it on this forum here in 2011 (it’s the NA, not the TT). Sudesh spotted it in a Dublin customs pound when the original importer went bust. I had my blue NA at the time but the chance to pick up a near-pristine Z with only 30,500km (BIMTA certified) on the clock was too good to miss.

1 trip to Norn Iron later (thanks Gaz 300 ), the deal is done and a few days after that, it turns up on a flatbed at JeffTT / Zedworld for cambelt and general prepping for the first UK registration. Also LED rear fogs and reverse, HID fronts.

In 2011, I had it fully Waxoyled and had a front wrap. The last bits of that are coming off tomorrow as it went hazy over the years but did a good job of protecting the front. It’s the same silver as the Skyline – KR4 (yet another change for Series 6).

Now I’m on an island and don’t have the commute hell of either Brent or M25 round Heathrow, I have a hankering for a manual once more. Some nice island roads over here…

Come and have a look if you’re coming to Simply Japanese this weekend. Those who know me won’t be surprised to know it’s stock and has been maintained by specialists according to the service book starting with JeffTT.

When it arrived in 2011, it had done less than 1,600 miles per year since it rolled off the production line. It’s my daily driver so it’s now at 176,421 km / 109,646m – not so many miles per year these days.

MOT to 26 Apr 2020. No advisories, emissions OK. Next service is a 6,000m due in Dec 19. Everything works. No rattles. Idles and runs as it should.

Being an NA, has a nice rasp from the original exhaust (I’m told that’s due to different headers to TT) when making good progress and it’s fun to drive, like any sorted Z.

2019 work:

new injector connectors

new MAF sensor

new plugs

new O2 sensors

new fuel, oil and airfilters.

2018: new tyres all round at 168,300km. Plenty of tread left.

2017: Major timing belt and pulley, tensioner kit

2016: front brake lines, n/s track rods

2015: front Brembos

2014: front tension rod bushes, drop links, rear CV gaiters

The windscreen scuttle is cracked and there’s a scuff on the bumper. Window trim is showing age. Seat fabric and steering wheel also showing age.

These pics show it a little dusty – but it will be washed, polished and fluffed for the weekend.

Loads of bills, the original Japanese export docs, service record and manual – hai!

Well-maintained, unmolested, club history, one owner since first UK registration and available at the right price. Looking round here, I see the last good Series 6 was offered at over £8k and went for what looks like over £6.5k. Mine’s a year earlier and has done 100k more km but that should be somewhere near there. So let's start at £4,999 :)

Come and see it at Simply Japanese (good excuse, eh?) otherwise means a trip to the island (another good excuse). I’ll also need a bit of time to transfer the non-included personal number plate. If the DVSA gives the original number back, it’s T reg.

From Osaka to Dublin to Stroke City to the IoW – where next for this nice NA?

Oh, PS. I've got another set of standard mats so those, the ones in the pic and the JVC DAB/FM/MP3/CD with Bluetooth you can see (and the DAB thing to the aerial you can't) are all included.

Surprised your selling this great Z Mike will you get another?

Only selling if it gets the right price - the best time to sell something is when you don't need to! Going to Simply Japanese gives it a wider audience so it made sense to see if any interest. In 20 years, I haven't found anything to compare with Zeds so they're on the list.

Apologies in advance for the thread hi-jack - but I have seen this car many times and it is indeed a lovely, well-looked-after example..... And at £5500, a real steal.

GLWS Mike; and make sure you buy yourself another:wink::thumbup:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

£4,999 - thanks RichardS, it's even more of a steal now! Not sure there's a better original stock at this price.

Sometimes it's worth travelling the extra mile to snaffle something special. As a Z owner for 20 years (tomorrow), this is one of them. To help you become a convert to the Z cause and try one of the nicest Zs I've had the pleasure of running and looking after, I'll pick you up from the ferry and throw in the car ferry back for the buyer. How about that for a good excuse to sample island life and secure a rather special Z?

……… Craig, Mike, tell Julia that she should have a Zed

:happybday::wink::lol::lol::lol:
