On Monday, this happened:

174045km 25 Mar 19 400.jpg

The odometer passed 174,045km - so what?

Well, that means I've driven this car for 89,205 miles since May 11.

Diag500.jpg

I drove the car on the right for 59,336 miles between Jun 07 and May 11. And the car on the left, my first Z, for 101,459 miles between Aug 99 and Aug 07.

1st and 2nd Zeds.JPG

That's this year's first milestone - a grand total of a quarter of a million miles in 3 Zs in 20 years. More that the distance from here to the moon!

This forum has been essential to keeping me and my cars going - thanks to everyone. (And who can spot the location where the 2 Zs are?)

A real credit to you mate. :thumbup1:

Thats everyone for likes i hope to one day post a documentation of my Zeds build but unfortunately it seems all the daily driving over the past 12 years has surface a large list of issues and repairs i am now in the process of trying to fix/improve and with very little money to spend on the car repairs are extremely slow and frustrating to deal with but hopefully when my Zed is more completely ill be able to share the fruits of my labour to the worldwide Z community.

Agreed - nice going Mike!!

I have managed a meagre 42,000 miles in my blue Zed since buying it from PhilP in August 2009. It had covered 69,917 miles when I collected it, I passed 70k on the long drive south, and now it's done just over 111,000 miles.

I bought my first Zed in June 2003 - which had done around 58,000 miles IIRC (below 60k, anyway) I sold it to Pistol Pete in August 2009 with around 95-98,000 miles.... So I have c79,000 Zed-miles under my belt in 16 years. And have enjoyed (pretty much) all of them

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I'm embarrassed to admit how low the mileage achieved in either my z31 or z32.

My milestone is keeping the z31 roadworthy (sort of!) for 12 years of ownership and nursing her to reach 30 years old. Sadly I think that's it for her though having looked at the welding required to mot again this week. Now big decision time! Keep, sell or brake. The z32 is in the garage needing work and hasn't been used really for a couple of years and I cant keep both off the road so maybe it will force my hand to bring the z32 out of hibernation.

Nice Z. Having a Z as a daily driver means you get to enjoy it a lot :) Difficult to tell from the pics but I think your wheels are on the wrong side (says the wheel police).

Mike you are a true z32 enthusiast driving these cars every day for most of your driving life. I remember when we travelled up to Sudesh to see your current Z and how fast the years have gone since then.

Yes, it was a great day - thanks. I even found your pics https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?150922-Thanks-to-Gary-Jeff-Zedworld-MrF-MJP-Sudesh&p=1521993&viewfull=1#post1521993 :D

Not quite sure how I got such a low number - the club had been going for some time and there were a lot of others before me. Maybe it was just a forum originally and then started a club subscription. El Presidente would know.

This must deserve a club award surely?!

Only for the laziest Z owner haha.

thanks gio, ive spent a small fortune on the exterior and interior to make my z look like a 2000 version R model and im now trying to catch up on all the mechanical problems i neglected to fix. Your probably right about the wheels mate and because of that error i have worn out my rear 8.5 inch USDM oem wheels thread down to nearly balled, so again more money needs to be spent and these tyres sizes for those wheels over here in australia are an odd size and hard to get.

But ill continue to keep it on the road as best i can and im still not finised with my project yet i have heaps of upgrade plans and adding more rare parts to the car in the future.

I had my wheels on wrong side for years until the wheel police caught up with me at a club outing. It's easy to check - Nissan put L and R on them! On my first Z, I also went for the 8.5" on the rears (also OEM in UK) but when fitting the tyres, found the tread width was less than on the JDM 7.5" pics here https://300zxtt.co.uk/techwheelpolice1.htm plus, as you say the choice of tire is more restricted and, over here, more £££.

Since then, I put 7.5" back on the rears and kept the JDM 7.5" all round on my next Z.

As i had all my oem wheels polished the letter has been almost worn off the wheels making it difficult to know which is L and which is R. Ive documented a photo illustration for the correct orientation of the wheels to avoid the wheel police in the future.

As for the usdm wheels they are rare as hell over here in australia so it gives my Z some exclusivity driving with them and they fit the rear guards way better imo. Also i spent nearly a $1000 aud getting them shipped down from japan 6 years ago, so i cant justify not using them.

The only other wheels i am considering using if i do decide to change is the smz avs wheels but they are also rare here in aus and i cant afford to spend that kind of money on the Z anymore, with a young family and saving for a house. So Im happy with what i have.
