Hi guys

I’m a first time owner and newbie to the 300zx world. I have previously and still spend a lot of time with old VWs and Mercedes. I have just recently found an import 1993 Twin Turbo LWB with only 23k miles on the clock. I intend to freshen it up a bit but not really modify it beyond a set of quality coilovers and era correct wheels. I take delivery of the car on Saturday and will post up some pictures once I’ve given it a full DA session and detail. Looking forward to ownership and speaking with you all.

Welcome to the club Andrew - and congratulations on your new purchase!!

As for the lowest mileage Zed in the UK.... You're certainly a contender, but I know of one or two more:wink: There's a certain black, UK spec car, once owned by the Sultan of Brunei - and now back on UK soil - which has a genuine 11k miles on the clock!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Welcome to the club, good luck with your new purchase, plenty of knowledge and help here.

Interesting question regarding mileage. Mine is around 21K (approx. 13k miles).

Thanks guys.

Ah so it’s not mine then! Bamboo Joe did you change the timing belt on yours as soon as you got it? Obviously car hasn’t reached 60k yet but a 20 odd year old belt is probably not a good thing right?

Thanks guys.

I didn't do the cam belt but know it has been done since it was imported.

Call me paranoid but don't think I'd even try and start a car if I thought the belt was 20 years old! I'd encourage you to get the belt changed unless you have proof it has been replaced in the last 3-4 years.

My advice would be to speak to Jimmer at Powerzed, based in Bristol. He's regarded by many as the best Zed mechanic in the country. He can give you a quote to replace the cam belt and advise you of any other maintenance that may be required given the age of the car.

I have a full service kit on the way, a workshop manual and some great mechanics I can call on if needed. I’ll add

a belt and water pump kit too and make it one of the first jobs I do. It’s not a daily car so can sit in my garage for weeks at a time if needed :)

I post a few bits and a load of rubbish on Instagram as well under @dubsouth.

Currently I'm mid timing belt change and waiting for a new drivers side scuttle to arrive, then it will be going for it's MOT and an underseal and I'll enjoy driving it at weekends.

Thanks guys. Joely P we'll have to look out each other when it's on road, i'm planning on doing some local car shows and meets like the cars and coffee mornings at Kelvedon and a few of the Essex Car Meets events. The Warren Estate do a great all classics show sometime in September that's always worth a look.

Just some more photos of the larger and smaller jobs ongoing at the moment including the horrfic personal plate I've bought and love .....

Lovely example and liking your attention to detail with replacing clips with new! Something I've been doing for YEARS! Keep it up!
