Have another cup of tea Craig and wait for the snow to melt. :)

LOL - yes.... But chances are it probably hasn't melted yet; still white here...

Draw a smiley face and leave it for another day.

Your not seriously thinking of driving it in this weather anyways.

No, draw a Zed on the bonnet....:cool:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

ok, i might tackle this at the weekend as long as my splinted finger doesnt prove too awkward to use, so whats the best way to approach it?

take the seat out for best access?

is it just remove panel, remove fuse box screws and pull it away, then you have access to relay panel?

is there enough loom slack to work on?

will go and do some old thread archeaology

presume nothing is that simple and it will be more like trying to do keyhole surgery with a jcb?

thanks Jeff.

battery drain over a couple of days explains the issue, with the radio, heater and clock being permanently live with no ignition on making it obvious i hope.

will just have to go for a deep dive into the footwell with the help of your pictures, although they didn't make it look any more appealing

thanks Jeff.

Plus it is the 'Of little importance' finger..... unless you want to count to 4 on one hand or 10 on both hands.....then your screwed.... lol

How did you manage to do that????

Was it bike related?

it's the "i'm suddenly single again" finger until any swelling or bandages come off, just in case they had to cut the ring off at the time

but you call it the 'of little importance' finger?

yes, bike related..

well, what a 'kin pain in the neck job that is, especially the t-top drain.

so the drain tube was disconnected, surprise surprise, culprit found. haven't fixed it yet, as i haven't got the fuse box out yet.

got most of the fusebox connections undone, but i cant get to some at the back, and cant get to some of the relays, but i have been able to move it out enough to see and get my hand in to find the drain tube problem at least.

all the time i was cursing and swearing my way through it i was thinking "should have sent it to Jimmer, wish i'd sent it Jimmer, i think i'll send it to Jimmer"

took the seat out, moved the bonnet pull moved the accelerator pedal, following a few guides i found from JeffTT and vodkashots, :thumbup1:

struggled quite a bit trying to get more access to the back of the fusebox for the other connections, and doesnt seem enough slack on the loom, so am not sure how i can get there.

any more ideas?

also, any diagrams or pointers to which is the accessory relay, so i can at least pull the correct one to check if i can get to it?

Andrew, would you have the part numbers for all of the relays please? or particularly the accessory and defogger relays?

i couldnt find them on the jp-carparts website.

Ignore the lamp check description, it’s just because it’s the same part number:

thanks Joel.

nissan4u.com thats the other one i was trying to remember, was trawling my bookmarks. i knew there was another one and couldn't recall, thanks.

thought it might be worth getting them anyway before i put it all back together again...(try)

This is the Japanese version:

The ACC and Rear defogger relays look to be the standard (for a Z32) Blue SPST and Brown DPST relays respectively.
