£3,499 for a 1994 L.reg Uk car, in red with leather etc., ok, mileage is high 160k but it is a 24 year old car so actually under the 10k per year thing.

 

So a quick MOT search and the corossion issue has dogged this zed since 2008, when the car was just 14 years old, take a look, now the £3.5k price makes sense>>

Hardly surprising it's suffered a rusty history; a 160,000 mile UK car in the wrong colour.

 

One of the main reasons I avoided UK cars when I bought mine back in the mid-2000s (that and the hideous amount of miserable bodykitted wonders). Even then a lot I was coming across were starting to turn into the ferrous ore from whence they came. Jap spec cars are catching up to that level of corrosion now too in extreme cases.

And the stuff that was repaired at the start is rusting again so not great repairs, though no surprise as most bodywork guys don't do it for the long term benefit of the car.

Agreed!! Which is why I have been extremely patient with Darren doing mine up at Dasstech. He may not be the fastest - and his forecasted completion dates might be (ahem) optimistic - but looking at the photos he has sent me over the restoration period, I can see he's done a top job....!!

Agreed!! Which is why I have been extremely patient with Darren doing mine up at Dasstech. He may not be the fastest - and his forecasted completion dates might be (ahem) optimistic - but looking at the photos he has sent me over the restoration period, I can see he's done a top job....!!

My uk zed has been in my garage for 15 years and yes I’ve had to cut the dreaded rust from her...but she’s ok now so If there out in the elements they will rust so keep them dry guys :)

Like I said it was KL1 - Dark Grey Pearl Graphite and has been repainted to look like what I thought was AH3 - Red pearl. Apparently there is one UK car in this colour for that year which is why I chased up the VIN.
