So been with bennetts for 5 years and always had competitive motorcycle insurance quotes, but this year for some reason they of gone of the scale!

This year they want £380 for my insurance with 5 years no claims, when ringing them they said that was there best price....but he would run my details again and see if there was anything that he could do,so after 10 minutes running through my details again he miraculously got it down to £280, so after telling them I'd get back to them and him giving me a reference number Id get back to him, so after spending some time on the internet I ended up with Hastings for £120 and got exstra personal cover with that as well, when I did ring bennetts back to see if they could beat the quote they said he couldn't get anywhere near it and that I should take there insurance quote lol, they said they were a on line broker and can't compete with proper insurances... So what they just try to rip the arse out of there loyal customers??

It's always best to get other quotes even though you think your getting a good deal

I personally think insurance companies are all the same, they change like the weather and will always try and screw you with any excuse they can think of on the day. Like all other things, shop around and go with who ever gives you the best deal, cos as Gaz says, loyalty means nothing.

I have always had the same problems with insurance. I always have to shop around. My lastest problem was with Adrian Flux. I have two 300zx, one is daily and one is for shows/fun. They are both 1990 on a H plate. I insure both cars for 5000 miles each. I took out the insurance with adrian flux, they then sent me an angry letter back saying I couldn't use my car as the main car for the NCB and that they had cancelled my insurance. So I rang them back and explained I have two similar cars, one as the main car and one as the extra car. After a lot of explaining as to why I would have two cars, let alone two the same (Is the other car your wife's sir? Is the other car off the road? Are you sure its your car sir? Do you have the V5 in your name sir?), I managed to get my insurance re-instated and then to really twist the knife, they said "We will drop the cancellation charges so you wont have to pay them...", Which of course started another slightly heated discussion...

I understand why its needed and why its a legal requirement, but insurance is a con in any country, in this country especially. In America, you insure the car and anyone driving it is covered... In China, you insure yourself and you can drive any car... As far as I know, its only this country where you have to insure yourself to the vehicle and, make sure you double check, you may be able to drive another car 3rd party with the owners permission. You spend years paying into the insurance, then of course someone crashes into you and the insurance company goes out of their way to not pay out... We need to start an insurance revolution!

1990 Black MT NA LWB = 2014 - 2020 (Sold)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2015 - 2017 (Stripped & Scrapped)

1991 Red MT TT LWB = 2017 - 2021 (Sold)

1991 Black MT TT LWB = 2018 - 2021 (Sold)

1989 Red AT TT LWB = 2021 - XXXX (Kept)

And don't forgot the con of when someone hits you and accepts liability - they put your next premium up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Carol Nash...I have 5 superbikes and pay £260 a year for a riders policy

Loyalty means nothing to insurances companies they just want as much as they can take mate. Always shop around.

Agreed.....

…..Just got my renewal in from Admiral. It's £175 this year - but they also cover the AMG and Julia's RR Evoque, so whilst I may have got the Zed insurance for less, with the multi-car discounts all three are insured for around £850...

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Do Admiral offer an agreed valuation for your Z? It wasn’t a service they offered when I was with them which is why I left.
