Recently have had trouble with a misfire, problem was a

combination of gunk in injector connectors and an out of

spec S1 TT injector.

Anyhow reading up on the S1 injectors found that the contact

power feed to them was not a great idea by Nissan and came

across this:

Has anyone done this?

Sorry type error, meant to write constant power feed to the injectors

Yeah later models had a modification on the loom so power was only applied when the ignition was powered. The effect of this is disputed. The main issue with the series one injectors was thier subseptability to ethanol, which UK fuel suffers less from than our US counterparts.

I plan to change to S2 injectors or Nismo 555's in the future but for now just need to change a single injector and will be doing this mod at the same time. Seems logical that a switched voltage injector can only be a good thing especially on S1 injectors which are known to fail, as one of mine has!

555s use the same old fashioned pintle technology as the originals. If you're going to upgrade, NISMO 740s are the ones you need. I wouldn't waste your time with 555s personally.

It’s not uncommon to see the newer style pintleless 555s, they are actually 615. This causes confusion. The original 555s are poorer quality.

I meant at some point upgrading to the S2 Nismo's, as yes putting S1 Nismo's would

just be taking a sideways step and definately not worth the hassle. The worst bit is removing the plenum as so many fiddly

bits have to come off, hence why the upgrade will be done at a later stage.
