Hi committee,

Was there any particular cause for concern that prompted the suspension?

Or is that standard procedure?

Just wondered if there was anything that the general members should be made aware of?

Usually banned members cant post on the forum as their e mail is blocked but for other reasons Lee got through this so we put him on hold for a few days to discuss his return. Lee was banned a long time ago so most wont know him but he deserves a second chance as with age we mellow and change so welcome him back guys.

Totally agree Gary, everyone does deserve a second chance.

But for what was he banned for? seeme a little extreme to say the least.

Nothing against the individual, my thoughts are not regarding the person at all.

It's more about the principal involved with regards to members being made aware.

From my point of view, being a member who was ripped of a few years ago by an active member, I would like to be assured that this is not likely to happen again.

No axe to grind, just think that this sort of decision should be less totalitarian and be more transparent.

Don't get me wrong, I have faith in the committee, but I think that this should have been put to the members for approval or objections, depending on the reason for the ban in the first place that is.

What was the misdemeanor?

Post 18 in the ban log will explain mate.

strange you have extra posts Joel, when i might have expected you to have fewer, if you had blocked anyone?

afaik, i am not sure if you can block others from seeing your own posts?

but that would mean Gary and I were having our views restricted as i see same #numbers as him.

might be worth you PM’ing us the list of posters in order or a screenshot, to see where the discrepancies are?

Good points mate - and duly taken on board by us for further discussion!

For reference, the circumstances in this instance occurred around 9 years ago. We have previously announced that banned members could appeal to the committee after (I think) 12 months, to return to the club - and this was generally accepted by most as a step forward. People change, pencils have rubbers, [possibly] everyone deserves a second chance.....

There will always be a few contentious requests; perhaps where a member was banned for something extremely serious - like ripping off several other members. In these circumstances, it may prove necessary to take into account the members' thoughts before allowing someone to return. Particularly if the committee cannot fully recollect the original reasons themselves - none of are getting any younger... Which is another reason why we maintain the ban log as a permanent record, just so we can all refer to it if necessary.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

In out, in out, you shake it all about

You do the Okey-Cokey and you turn around

That's what it's all about

Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey

Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey

Oh, Okey-Cokey-Cokey

Knees bend, arms stretch Rah-rah-rah
