So as part of my engine rebuild I started to work on the valves and after giving them a good clean

I noticed that a lot of them are very badly pitted .

My thought are rather than replace the few than need done i'd just get the whole lot replaced.

The below set on concept is what I was planning to get but wondered if any extra work was needed

to the block they fit into.

Also if anyone else has any recommendations.

Overkill tbh i think. Your valves and seats will need to be seated to ensure a proper seal and not permit excessive heat transfer due to excessive seat contact area.

The stock valves are viewed as very good and with a reseat i think they will be fine.

I've taken a few pics to show the condition of the current valves.

I basically put them in a drill chuck and used scotch pads to polish them up.

The smaller valves look good but they have lost there edge and look more rounded off.

I've spent a fortune on my build so skimping on a valve set is not the way to go.

Get the valves reground, and the head angles cut again,

Yes his should of been done in the machine shop along with the head skim....

Really don't want to touch the heads now; I've had enough bad luck already.

Decided to stick oem and will by new valves shortly to be sure then lap them in.

Lapping is no good for new valves. You MUST have the seats and valves cut to suit each other.

As stated, your valves and seats must be cut to suit correctly, get your machine shop to do it.
