Does anyone have a spare Air Conditioning idler pulley they don't want? Mine has become noisy so looking to get a replacement that I have a new bearing for.

There are a few folk I know who have deleted theirs, so if you have an idler pulley that's totally round and not egg shaped, I'd really like it.

Don't care on the condition of the bearing.

Yes I know but I have a feeling my pump could also be worn, so trying this approach before renewing the whole lot.

Also having said that I have a spare one off my donor in the garage. I’ll root it out if you want it.

Dan, why did you remove it? What state was your AC pump in? Was it quiet/smooth?

If your pump was completely silent when it was running, it's been well stored and you want to sell it, do please let me know.

You can also unbolt the bracket. Assumed you've taken that off with the pulley on it?

As Joel says. It’s not unusual for bearing to get stuck on the shaft from either corrosion or heat cycling. Get the bracket off and be firm with it. In the past it’s not been unknown for me to smash the bearings out the centre leaving the inner race on the shaft then cut the race most of the way through and heat, eventually it goes pop, cracks open and comes loose. Then you’ve just got the outter to contend with.

Get it in the vice, soak it in penetrating fluid then try again with the puller, some shock treatment will help.

Had success today thanks, lost me temper lol,put nut on and just hammered it until it gave up and shaft popped through, then had to heat the brocken bolt up to remove it and put a new bolt in,all for sake of some grease on shaft GGGRRRRR,cheers anyway all good now.
