Hi all,

Currently working in CA atm and have found a few good Zed owners out here. One has offered me a set of Godspeed side mounted Intercoolers. Q. Are they any good and are they a direct fit?

Anyone got them on a zed here in the UK?

Any help appreciated, as I think they will just fit in the suitcase if they are worth bringing home :)

Pretty sure they are the same as the Jspspeed ones I have. Bit of fettling to fit but yeah they fit pretty easy. From the reviews I’ve read they are an improvement over stock but not on a par with say Ash spec ones etc. If they’re cheap, get them.

Yes good IC's, as Stephen says if they are a good price, bring back in your suitcase!

Pretty sure they are the same as the eBay ones everyone runs.

If you have the carbon canister they are a pain to fit. My ones didn't line up to the stock brackets.

I got them for $100 for the pair so they are coming home with me! I could have got a Greddy front mount instead, but I was under the impression SMIC's are slightly better suited to the Z than FMIC's (although its probably just a personal preference thing - each owner to themselves!)..

You mean HIGHLY better suited and not at all a personal preference thing.

All to often I steered you away from front mounts

Got them on my 300, good fit and cannot fault them. I did remove the CC and relocated the washer bottle for better airflow. Also, modified the front repeaters as the filament holder just snags on the IC.

It looks like I have some work to install them then! I'd be interested to see some pics of the filament mod and where the washer bottle was relocated to.

I might to tart up the front bumper at the same time at the paint shop - can't have nice IC's and a crappy bumper! :)

I think there’s details in my build thread of the indicator mod. Wasn’t hard. I left the washer bottle.

Carbon canister I put a lot of effort into bending the pipes upwards, but in the future it will be deleted.

Indicator mod I got a picture somewhere (I put a pic in Stephens thead I think, I'll find it later if not)

Washer bottle can stay where it is.

And I made up some flat metal pieces for the intercooler top mount.

PM me if you need more info

I fitted a carbon canister from an R33 GTR to mine, they’re much smaller and plumb straight in. In my opinion, it is a mistake not to have a CC fitted as you can really smell the vapours and the smell of fuel becoming “acceptable” or normal could mask a more serious problem!
Is it just a case of swapping the hoses and making a mount?

Not sure what size they are in comparison with the Ashspec ones however I had to cut the back of my indicators off and switch my indicators to the sidelight bulb as the Ashspec massives are exactly as they are called.
