Not to sound negative but I doubt you'd get anything for them. Maybe 10-20 quid at a push? They have a smaller exhaust housing than the manual turbo, slightly more responsive perhaps but will run out of power up top. If they need rebuilt I'd be susprised if anyone will take them buddy, they would just rebuild their existing units or upgrade :-(

Personally if I have parts like that I just stick them down the skip lol, it's less hassle than wrapping them up. By all means though fire them on ebay you never know your luck!

If that’s the case and they are only worth going in the skip I will happily pay the scrap value and postage

That is a very wasteful attitude. Even if they need a rebuild they’ll still have value to someone, even if it means helping a member out so they can have a good set ready to replace and reduce downtime with the engine pulled.

Stephen has already offered to take them off you for the price of postage so please don’t sling them in the bin just because you can’t be bothered wrap them up!

It wasn’t the OP GeeDee that said that matey:whistling:

Never throw anything away. One mans trash is another mans treasure. I always try to sell things before they get thrown away. Who knows if to you its broken, but it might have that one rare nut or thingy-whatsit that someone has been looking for...

Just to add my thoughts and experience on this, new housings / bodies were getting harder to find 3 years ago let alone now. When we were doing a lot of turbo changes in the workshop the turbo rebuilder would often reject 40% of the housings after x raying them due to minute cracks/ fractures. So often we had to send more than 1 pair to get a good set. So to the auto/manual difference, let's get real here, no one here owns a road/ track race team and talking about auto turbo's running out of puff at higher speeds on the normal highway is way out there with dump valves keep your turbos spinning faster and iridium plugs give you better power...keep those turbo bodies just in case or if selling they so have value if uncracked as donor rebuilds for some one.

Perhaps my attitude is a bit off kilter, but let me give you a couple of examples from personal experience:

Because i live in the highlands, when it comes to second hand parts people refuse to pay the extra £10-20 postage even when they are getting utter bargains.

A v-spec R33 GTR aluminium bonnet - I tried to sell it for £20 noone will take it because of the location.

A Z32 rear rust-free boot with bomex spoiler - free for uplift. Noone would take it.

A H22a jdm head - free, same situation

A 80k miles H22a5 from a one-lady vehicle, full ancilliaries, injectors etc. mint condition - £50, it's been sat there 2 years and heavily advertised.

K11 march jdm parts - cheap, no one will buy

Bride modified seat rails - no one will... you get the idea here.

Christ, recently I let a BB4 prelude with loads of rare jdm performance parts, goodrich stainless lines, 2ws rear subframe, polybushes, interior, uprated brakes for £30! yes £30 after months of trying to sell it.

Storage isn't free so to speak, so for me it makes more financial sense to dump things when people are less than likely to buy items. If I owned a yard where I could store junk parts then by all means I'm on board with the hoarding attitude; but when nobody else is willing to make the effort to meet half way by paying a little extra postage cost (expecting me to pay to sell in some circumstances, I kid you not) the potential benefit to others becomes of secondary importance.

I have got things from China & Japan , so I would not think in this day & age distance is a problem?

I have several bits for a z like a new injector for free, no takers, but I will hold onto it if it will in the future help a forum member!

Haha you would think, right? I think it's the principle of the thing. It's just as much of an annoyance the other way round - despite being on the mainland, anything north of Perth gets a £20+ surcharge in delivery costs. So in reality you might be cheaper getting it delivered from China lol!!
