Has anyone had a slightly squeaky or noisy slip ring/squib? Mine has a very slightly squeak at 3/4 turn and continues from the same spot at the next turn. I assume it's the slip ring as it sounds like it's plastic squeaking against plastic.

 

Has anyone had similar and used a bit of lube to quieten? I'd imagine a small blob of PTFE grease would cure it, but could it be anything else?

Sorry Si, never had the need to lube me ring....... Never had it squeak........ lol

But if it ever does I would probably use PTFE grease or vaseline.....:whistling:

I wonder if it's not in its central position, ie needs one revolution either way and then seat wheel.

I don't think so. Before I fitted it, I counted the turns either way from extremity to dead centre to extremity.

I think it could be the bushing on the shaft..mine used to do it and a couple drops of 3-1 oil and it went :wink:

Feels like it's right at the top. I'll take the rim off and give my ring a little play. :)
