I am thinking of buyinf an all singing all dancing double DIN android stereo. I would need a double DIN dash bit though. Does anyone have one going reasonably cheaply? Only ones I can find online are $300-ish. Also if anyone has some shagpile carpets...

You can get a single din 7" Pioneer that sings and dances but for this you'll have to dig deep into your pocket .

Cool ok, ill keep on looking at single DIN options

I wouldn't recommend a double DIN head unit for the Z32. Glare and awkwardness with a touch screen that's not exactly at your finger tips kinda makes it loose its appeal.

I had one and removed it for a single deal surround (new OEM) and a good quality single DIN Alpine head unit. So much happier with it. MUCH easier to use when you're on the go, no glare and tactile buttons.

The worst grammar this side of Proxima Centauri. I bet my grandmother turned in her grave. Certainly depressed me; pitiful!!

Got my double din Pioneer in. As FunkiSi has said there’s a lot of glare when the sun is low and behind you.

However I wouldn’t be without it. I use it as a satnav and hand free. Law requires us not to use our phones whilst driving but I can touch a button without looking for too long and voice activate who I want to call etc. Funnily enough it also allows the radio to be used and music played.

If you decided to get a double din facia. The Z Centre has it available although it’s about £160 inc VAT.

Opinions are our own and you can chose as you want dude.

I pretty much agree - I have a Kenwood DAB/navigation/Bluetooth DD unit and - despite the Garmin navigation, it's actually pretty good.....

....But Andy has a point - check this out.....

The double-DIN facia is of poor quality compared to the OEM dash panel; and hence I am considering returning to single DIN with this unit.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

How much you looking for the Kenwood Rich?:innocent::whistling:

Has anyone tried cutting up a twin single din surround?

I have one, it looks as tacky as you would think.

Yeah i made 1 i can live with it for now, but still not happy with the finish, the head unit has a plastic frame so much of the crap edging around the head unit is hidden.

I'm now doing a work- through on nights, but I should be able to get you a pic of my one when I get home in the morning:thumbup1:

Cheers guys. I’ve seen them on a few sites but they don’t show, for obvious reasons, quality photos of the fitting problems with their product.

Haha. A review of the Iterior Inovations unit...

“Not worth your money, time or effort. Would recommend modifying your existing bezel, removing the center piece from the stereo bracket and using a drill press to create your own stereo bracket. That way won't cost $135 and leave you in the grass with your pants around your ankles. Do not recommend at all.”

I've got both the z32 one from the group buy and the Zcentre one. the fascia on both I have no problems with.

the brackets provided with both of them are dog awful not fit for purpose. the z32 plastic brackets don't hold the stereo in the correct place and are plastic and break easily. the zcentre brackets, whilst metal are a perfect example of how to get absolutely everything possible wrong - theyre not even a matched pair

whatever you do don't put a big double din touch screen in a convertible that you only drive when its sunny

I also agree about the lack of physical control especially the volume nob, so much so I fitted steering wheel controls

I am currently using a single din Kenwood KDC-BT92SD and its great. It does everything I want, plays music via BT on my phone, accepts the rare calls I get while driving and does the voice from my co-pilot gps app on my phone. It has a USB lead for a usb stick or charging a phone, it has a SD slot for up to 32GB and a CD player, whatever that is

It is excellent, however unless its midnight, you can not see the screen. Ive tried all of its 32 colours, all of its 16 levels of brightness. Ive tried with and without the T-Top covers and it makes no difference. My friend has a double DIN stereo in his Seat something or other that uses android and his apps on his phone work on his 7" touch screen stereo, more to the point it was bright and had big easy to see "buttons". Having just changed from Windows Phone 10 to android I thought this would be a good route to go, but it seems finding a D-DIN dash is harder than it looks!

Old school double-din's ftw. Touch-screen to me is a massive distraction compared to buttons you can feel - I do however have a very cool JDM carozerria raku-navi with the japanese speaking lady :-D , but for the Z I'm happy enough with single din, it does everything you'd need. Be extra cool and get an early 90's single din equalizer for the second slot ;-)

Great work on that centre console Rolandas, it’s good to see you back on here also bud :thumbup1:
