So, I've been here for years now and have seen many zeds come and go. Some of my favourites being here in the northeast. Anyway, I thoughts I'd make a thread about old favourite to try and drum up some interest.

So, what are your old favourites and where are they now if you know.

The Fridge:

So this was owned by PaulG who put the kit on and painted the car himself in his garage. Shockingly, I remember FunkySi saying he quite liked the car. I personally loved it, veilside Supra spoiler and all. The car sold sold to someone abroad, initially having a wheel change and the spoiler removed before having a complete new colour and look.

Into chaving up Fords now. I stayed at a hotel in Derby last week and saw him parked up in the McDonald's there just across the way in the 'Automodz' stickered up Focus.

Ah I see, the last thing I recall was his second build throwing a bearing on break in. After the last one died.

I wonder where Jeff's Z ended up. Found this pic but not sure if its Jeffs

Yup - that is indeed Jeff's car Gary.... I think he had removed his private plate by the time that pic was taken (at least I thought he had one on his Zed). Those rear head-rests are the giveaway; that was one of his unique mods....

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

"Rear head rests" never knew Jeff had that mod.

Murts Birthday today does anyone know if he still has the Z or is it sold on?

Sold that years ago. He last had a battered S15 that he used for drifting.

Trying to recall some of the funny and rather pointless Z32 related modifications of the time (other than dump valves).

Stuff that's gone out of favour (thankfully):

*Shrimpy's grounding kit

*Chromed headlights

*Mesh in the front bumper

*Carbon bonnets (which weigh about the same as a stock bonnet).

probably well before most of your’s tmes here, but i recall a very funny conversation on “speed holes”

One of the things I have to remove from Dads car. Drives me nuts. Did a google and people think it improves performance? https://www.300zx.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?65784-grounding-kit

Placebo is a wonderful thing. It's junk stuff. If your connectors are clean, then there's absolutely no need for additional earthing points. Junk it.

It wasn't cheap either.

Aaaah! Other way round then! Sideshowbob got a black one after that from memory.

It was a lovely car that pearl yellow.

Nah, he got a black TRD kitted NA Mk 4 Supra after the Z

Think he originally planned on a NA-TT build, but he ended up selling it for fund towards a house I think.

My blue car had a blue grounding kit on it. I removed it as i didnt see the point. I don't really get how it could improve performance, unless a poor ground gets routed to a better one so to speak

The red LWB you said was Baggins' car, it started life owned by him but was bought by Greg who had it for a number of years.

Other way around. Was owned and built by Greg for many years, before he sold it to Baggins

Sold that years ago. He last had a battered S15 that he used for drifting.

Still has it. Has undergone a very big power Rebuild recently, but still very much a "drift-spec" car.

ARTZ2GO - CHRIS

here's artz2go's car. Will always remember the first time I met him and he had a full on beer ceg (in a smaller form) in the car for the weekend. Chris had a great sound system which i believe was put together by Mark Derby for him. Then all the interior trim etc was done by one of Marks friends in a nice fresh white. Chris put a lot of cash into the car but sold it around 3 years ago. It also boasts a nice triple chrome plenum that I sold him, those were very rare and costly as normally chromed plenum would always pitt up

Ted The Zed - Gibster TT (Danny)

Ted was quite a well known car and Danny did a lot of work on the car and had it looking very nice with a fresh red respray. Hed also done a lot of work underneath too. The car was sadly taken off the road and he had a custom Grey wide arch built from a separate car.

As for what actually happened to Ted... I OWN HER and she looks very different now as people will see in the near future.

Ok folks - thread now tidied up so we can get back onto the topic of "Popular Zeds" from the past - and where they may be nowadays......

Please let's keep it going in line with the spirit of the original posts...:clover:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Can’t remember if he was mentioned (too lazy to look back) but has anyone seen or heard from Jason Farrow ??
