Anybody know where to get some of these targa trim clips? I've been through 3 sets of trims and still don't have a complete set because people always pry he trims off and snap them -_-

Alic, how hard is it to remove all the external trim parts without breaking them?

I ask as when my car was resprayed they put the 20 year old trim back on and they really let the car down. I'm respraying the car in a few years so will by trim then however if they're easy to get off then I'm happy to fit now to lift the car until then.

Cheers

Chris.

The targa trims are just a screw on, screw off affair (some dismantling of the targa required). Why anyone would just pry them off is beyond me as they will inevitably break and cause damage, that’s like removing a wheel without taking the nuts off! The smaller trims behind the targas come off quite easily once you know how, but you may need to replace the clip. I always found the A pillar trims quite tricky but it’s all in the technique, my windscreen man did them perfectly in seconds! Again for these, there is always a chance that the clips could get damaged.

I would recommend buying the trims sooner rather than later as they will no doubt start to become even more expensive as they draw ever closer to being discontinued. When you buy them, get enough clips to do the job twice so you’re all set for when the big anti-flip paint job time arrives (at Kraftwork [emoji6]).

Replacing these when they look tired gives a lovely lift to the car, a very important detail in my opinion.

The clips break because people think they can slide them off, (I've seen people on Facebook spreading this info as 'advice') and unlike the windscreen one, this one doesn't simply slide off.

As Joely says some dismantling required, or a half dismantle and drilling some holes to access the screws.

This!

They're not snip fit clips. You'll keep breaking them or you'll bend and warp the metal substrate of the trim.

Useful info chaps as I am about to remove mine this weekend. Would have no doubt tried sliding these off as per the windscreen and small t top one. I don’t need to chase any more unnecessary damage :taz:

Yeah I also did a tutorial. You dont need to use paint or mask or whatever. Thats overcomplicating it. Just follow my tutorial on where to drill:
