What's the problem?

Yup - same question.....

....I have no issue with the dipstick - granted, it is very close to those AC pipes.... And when the oil is new and fresh, it can be a little tricky to see it on the end. However I overcome the latter by lightly placing it on a clean piece of kitchen roll and checking the "blotch" is the full length of the little measuring tip.

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Lol so Mercedes have gone back to fitting them again.

Yup - current SLC43 has one, as did my R172 (2012/13) SLK350 before that. My previous two R171 SLK350s also had one - they were 2009 and 2006 models - that said, in that shape, I believe just the 350 had a dipstick, the smaller engines did not.....!

I’m guessing you find it hard to read. Many moons ago I scoured horizontal lines in mine on one of the plain sides, easy to read.
