Hey guys!

Recently I have fellen in love with these cars and should be placing a deposit on one this weekend. The garage is an import warehouse based in Middlesbrough and the car is a recent import TT from 1991.

I'm just wondering if anybody has had any dealings with thecarwarehouse.co.uk? and if the 1991 TT model has any known issues?

Hi mate, This is the car you are referring to? http://www.thecarwarehouse.co.uk/vehicle/80/nissan-300zx

It was on ebay a while ago at £12k i think, this is a much more reasonable price. Our verdict was that there were some things we would change like the sterring wheel and whatever gizmos are in the boot and centre console, but looks to be a clean car. We also noted it is a bit of a shame it comes with teh tweed interior at that price, but it looks in good nick and can be changed.

Welcome

Yes, that's the one. Fingers crossed it doesn't go before Saturday.

I test drove it a couple of weeks back and everything seems pretty solid, the breaks felt like butter but I'm putting that down to age and something I can easily fix myself.

The interior isn't in bad condition, it's just a bit of an old style and theres a rip on driver seat which they say they will repair. All the center consoles are in Japanese and nobody knows how to get them working so this can just be removed. Steering wheel certainly needs changed too. I'm happy to hear you don't have anything massively bad to report on it to be honest.

T.mogsy, surprised to find another from the Wirral here, I can't say I'v seen any 300zx's on the streets around.

I'm from Upton mate how about yourself? Also this will be my first Z32.

Welcome to the club Scott and nice Z if you get it. The only thing wrong as far as I can see is the back wheels are on the wrong side. Tom (t.mogsy) would be a great member to speak to for advice and could check it over for you if you buy it.

Welcome to the Club Scott!

The door mirror sails are white (should be grey) and the rear spoiler is missing its black stripe which suggests

part/all of the car has had a respray. Also make sure that the VIN plate (near to the o/s headlight) and chassis

number plate on the firewall (near the brake master cylinder) are present and match.

If you need someone to have a look at the car for you, I'm pretty local to Middlesbrough. :thumbup1:

Hi and welcome Scott!!

That does look a tidy example - and from my recollection, it has been on sale for some time now; so it most likely will be available at the weekend...

Mondo mate would love you take you up on that, any availability this weekend?

This has been for sale with them for well over a year now. I asked about it before buying mine last October and I got nothing back and so ended getting my shortie instead...has been that price for well over a year now; might explain the brake issue if its been standing I guess. GLW the purchase.

I can be available if need be. Drop me a text on 07860679243 and we'll sort something out :thumbup1:

My laptop is currently on charge (so I can put this Zed on Conzult tomorrow) and I've arranged to meet up with Scott so we can both have a look at this car and see what's what. :thumbup1:

Looks like Scott is a new Z32 owner now!

We went and had a good thorough look at this one in Middlesbrough this afternoon and it's a nice clean car. A few issues, but nothing insurmountable. The biggest issue both I and Jimmer had (I rang him to pick his brains) was the asking price.

So Scott and I went to talk to the sales guy with a view to reducing said price, but he outright said there was no movement whatsoever. One of his reasons for this was somewhat comical...

He said, and I quote, "Once these cars hit 25 years old, the Americans buy them all!"

I didn't have the heart to put him straight about how Americans already have plenty of LHD ones to choose from over there, but it said to me that he didn't know a great deal about them at all.

Anyhoo, Scott decided to buy it and I left him on the verge of parting with his hard earned. Hopefully he's not buying a mutt and he'll have a hugely enjoyable drive home when he collects it. Welcome aboard, fella. :)

As an aside, should anyone be interested in the silver LWB that the dealer also has advertised for £8k... forget it! It is unbelievably tatty!! The pictures make it look nice, but it's anything but... steer well clear!!
